4 Registering for Job Central If you are not signed in or registered you will be taken to the below screen. You must register to gain full access to Job Central as an employer. Register for a New Employer Account To register for a new Employer account click on the Sign up now! button. 4
5 All User account information provided is for internal use only for data collection and analysis purposes. Clicking the register link will bring you to a registration form where your Job Central Employer profile and user account is created. If you represent an organization that posts jobs on behalf of other employers, you may register with your organization s information so you can keep track of all job postings under one account. Be sure to coordinate/remember which address you registered with. Ideally you should use a manager or coordinator s name and address to register, for ease of use. Alternatively, you can use a generic address. Please choose a password that is secure by using the password strength indicator for tips. We recommend using this to your advantage, so that you can feel free to register with a long and secure password with multiple alphanumeric characters. How to Reset Your Password Can t remember your password? Click the login button in the top right corner of the website. Then click the Request New Password tab. Enter the you used to register for your account and than click new password. An will be sent to confirm your address. You will need to verify your address to gain full access to Job Central. Please check your junk/ spam folder if you do not see this within 5 minutes. If you do not validate your account soon after posting your job, your job will be automatically discarded after 30 minutes (because the system has assumed that this account is spam). 5
6 Creating a Job Post In the top menu bar go to Post a job under Employers. Now that your account has been validated you can login using your username/ address & password. You ll be taken to your employer user profile (a.k.a. My account). From there, click on Post New Job located above your name. Please note: You can return to this screen at anytime while logged in by clicking MY ACCOUNT which is located in the top right of the website. 6
7 When you have clicked the Post new Job link you will be directed to the Create Job post form. The Job requirements, Qualifications, and Soft skills fields have pre-determined options (terms) for you to select that may apply to your job posting.you can select multiple options to keyword optimize your job posting. You may select the other option and type in your new term; If you do not find the term you would like, you can then use our Feedback Form ( to recommend that we adjust the language to optimize it for other similar meanings. Once you have submitted your job post a message will appear in green saying Your job post is scheduled. Please note: The data information provided in the job post creation form will be collected for data analysis purposes; please provide a complete address with the postal code. Also note that each job posting will also have its own address field for the job and a separate address field for where the applications can be sent. This may be redundant for some employers posting their jobs, but it provides optimal flexibility for staffing organizations. 7
8 Creating a Job post: How to Apply Section This section of the job creation form provides employers with multiple options for collecting applications including: 1. Online application (using Job Central) 2. By mail 3. By 4. Website link (Allows applicant to apply on employer website) 5. By fax 8
9 The online application option is On by default. To disable this feature, change the selection from Job Application to Disable Registrations. You will still be able to enable this feature when editing your job posting later. The website link field is helpful if you d rather have people apply through your own website or a 3rd party job management website. Under this section you will also find an area for screening questions. these would added to the job application in addition to the standard form as custom questions. Job Post: Online Application and Screening Questionnaire This is advanced instructions for employers who are using the Online Application and screening questionnaire tools with their job posting on Job Central. We have provided 2 tools where you can ask applicants certain questions. One of them asks the applicant for Y ears of Experience they ve had with a given industry certification. Again, you can use the Other option to expand what is currently provided to include your own options. The second field allows for Employers to ask open questions of their own choosing. Each new line with an employer question will generate a new text field in the application screening questionnaire. 9
10 Managing Your Account, Job Postings and Applications When logged in, you can go to the My Account section (link at the top-right of the site) to perform the following tasks: 1. Edit your account 2. View and manage your Job Posts (displays all of your job posts) 3. View and manage your Applications (displays all applications for all job posts) 4. View and manage the publish scheduling of your Job Posts 10
11 Viewing and Managing Job Posts When you click on the tab called Job Posts, you will find a listing of jobs that belong to your account. You ll be able to view, edit and delete. Choosing the edit tab for a job posting allows you to continue to make updates to your job posting. When viewing or editing a job posting, you can also go to the Manage Application tab to perform the following tasks: 1. View a report of applications to this job post 2. Control settings pertaining to the availability of the online applications tool (such as whether or not you want your job post to have online applications Enabled ) 3. A tool to all of your applicants at once. When ing all applicants at once please make sure to click settings and update the from . 11
12 How to repost a Job Post You will receive an notification from Job Central when your job post has expired. To repost a job first sign into your account and then go to My Account > Job Posts and click edit. When you click edit you will see your editable job post. In the edit field scroll down to Scheduling options and put the date to the near future.then change the closing date by selecting a date from the pop up calendar. Then scroll down and click the save button. Your job post will be assessed and then posted. Please allow for a time delay of up to 15 or 30 minutes, before you will see your job post listed. 12
13 How to Review Job Post Applications T o view submitted applications go to My account > applications, and then click view from the list of applicants. Once you are in the viewing window you can then review the answers to the screening questionnaire 13
14 By clicking Manage Applications you are able to further mange the applicant as you wish. 14
15 How to All Job Post Applicants By clicking Applicants you can all applicants who have applied to the specific job post using the online job central application. 15
16 Employers are encouraged to go to the Settings button next to the Applicants button scroll down to the From Address line and enter the address they would like the to come from. 16
17 Scroll back up to the Applicants button to all applicants at once. Fill out the form and hit send. 17
