Job escription Job etails Summary Job Title: Senior eveloper/ba Place of Work: Liverpool Science Park & Runcorn Business Park Hours of Work: 37.5 Responsible to: CTO Job Purpose The role encompasses design input of specific Clinical condition solutions in the form of apps (Android currently, Windows soon), and more importantly the controlling database structure of the company s Content Management System which underpins the functionality of the apps. The post holder will take a key role in the design, development & implementation of bespoke Clinical and Business solutions. ncluding the design & development of SQL atabases, Web based Graphical User nterfaces, PHP, ASP.Net, Javascript and VB/VBA solutions. n addition, the post holder will extend some of the capabilities of bought-in systems, through the development of bespoke interfaces, data extracts. The post holder will be required to help in the design and implementation of the company s strategic application development for clinical oriented applications, and the future support and development of highly complex integration engines and interfaces with client systems. The post holder will also be required to help provide expert consultancy and advice to clients in the use of both SQL technologies and the potential of integration of systems. This involves setting working practices in the team, ensuring these standards and practices are documented and ensuring the post holder s own work conforms to the adopted standards To take an innovative and proactive approach in the use of modern database technology and development tools to automate tasks as appropriate and make applications as efficient as possible, maximising their run speed, performance, and robustness. This requires an awareness of current technology and techniques gained through technical manuals, on-line web-based material, books, magazines and cascading of knowledge between team members. Responsibility for Finance, quipment & Other Resources Responsible for the safety and security of any device allocated by the company. The post holder will be required to provide cover for the CTO as appropriate during periods of leave or, for specific applications development projects, by maintaining project documentation and attending the relevant project meetings and workshops usually not more than 2 3 times a month. nformation Resources & Administrative uties Work with peers and colleagues to support the rollout of the bespoke software solutions developed. Other Specific Tasks Maintain an up to date knowledge of the Software evelopment tools used by the company through cascade training, books and trainer led course or person study. A particular requirement of the post holder is knowledge of MS SQL Server, Analysis & Reporting Services, nternet nformation, Server,.NT framework, Visual Basic, Active Server Pages, XML & the Microsoft Visual Studio evelopment environment. Perform typical analytical tasks comprising but not limited to: Analyse, investigate and resolve complex M&T queries and issues such as system errors, Capture and analyse user requirements and data trends nterpret highly complex data used to design Clinical systems to achieve efficiency savings for clients and where appropriate patient benefit. nterpret the performance targets of bespoke systems and develops solutions to address issues as they arise. Working nvironment The post is managerial but non-clinical and is predominantly office based at Liverpool Science Park (imminent re-location to another site in the North West), but with a requirement for some travel (3-5 times per month). Periods of concentration are required for 80% of the working day There is daily/continuous use (90%) of VU equipment, but flexibility to leave the workstation at regular intervals.
