Education New Zealand (ENZ) aims to help our industry achieve growth through our research and marketing programmes, collaboration with our international education partners, our involvement in student recruitment and business development initiatives. Purpose The Marketing and Strategic Relationships Manager works directly to the Regional Communications & Strategic Relations Manager and closely with the NZ teams to implement regional and country plans which help to implement ENZ s strategy. This position is responsible for the development and delivery of the regional marketing strategy and government relations opportunities in South and South East Asia for the New Zealand education sector. The responsibility of this role also extends to senior representation and advocacy on behalf of the Regional Director. ENZ s strategy is to build the capability of New Zealand Education so that the industry is successful in international markets. This requires a superior level of leadership and relationship management both at the sector and international regional level. It is the role of the Marketing and Strategic Relationships Manager to ensure: Integration between ENZ s New Zealand and International teams to deliver the international education goals. Identification and delivery of marketing and strategic opportunities for education originating in the region Delivering the marketing events and plan for the country/countries Information sharing and a project team culture across the organisation Development of people, systems and processes to ensure continuous improvement Credibility achieved through our results Government and Strategic alliances (South East Asian and NZ stakeholders) are maintained and new relationships built in the region to assist New Zealand education succeed internationally which reflects the strategic direction of ENZ.
Relationship Management Internal External Liaise with and maintain effective working relationships with employees in Education New Zealand Education New Zealand s Board NZ Inc agencies including - Ambassador and staff at New Zealand Embassies in the region. Liaise with and maintain effective working relationships with other organisations including: o Central Government Agencies o Education Sector PEAK bodies o Stakeholders and public organisations o Marketing and media agencies o Individual education service providers Key Accountabilities for this position In this position you are responsible for delivering on the following key accountabilities: Representation & Advocacy This role will on occasion be required to stand-in for the Regional Director in meetings with key South East Asian and New Zealand stakeholders, in the delivery of speeches and presentations, and in various other tasks, where a strong ENZ show of support is required. Relationship Management Support the day-to-day relationship building and leveraging with South East Asian Government entities and officials as well as other strategic partners for New Zealand Take a lead role in Ministerial visit/mission planning and execution Acquire market intelligence, including through monitoring competitor country activities. Assess the effectiveness of such activities Identify opportunities and market issues through knowledge and understanding of the education market and identifying key players offering New Zealand export growth opportunities Maintain the relationship with sector counterparts in New Zealand, and all other activities that facilitate the development of relevant networks Develop and continually strengthen in depth knowledge of New Zealand educational institutions and education sector capabilities Assist New Zealand and Internationally-based colleagues in servicing enquiries from the website, Government agencies and leads Identify opportunities for the provision of New Zealand education and training services internationally Liaise with in-market national and regional education authorities. Enhance collaboration by engaging with New Zealand Inc. in the region Provide support for visits to New Zealand by key education stakeholders in market
Student Recruitment Implement the Education New Zealand offshore education strategy for the region Develop and maintain strong relationships with education agents in market, including organising and attending education agent workshops/seminars to enhance sector relationships and market knowledge Liaise with students interested in New Zealand education opportunities Proactively seek new promotional opportunities within the market for potential involvement Develop and deliver a PR strategy for the region; manage PR agency relationships and reporting Provide operational support including project management and/or event coordination to promotional functions such as trade fair exhibitions and in-market visits. Attendance at events may include domestic or international travel Develop and continually strengthen in depth knowledge of New Zealand educational institutions and education sector capabilities Work closely with onshore team members to keep them abreast of local market issues Professional Behaviour Work collaboratively as part of ENZ.
