Roma Design Lab In the historic centre of Rome, five days dedicated to industrial, artisan, independent, sustainable and sperimental design. Events and temporary exhibitions that will animate the city, turning it into an active creative workshop. Objectives Make Rome the Italian capital of Design and Creativity by involving: _Companies working in the design, architecture and artistic craftsmanship sector, with particular focus on the Mediterranean area _Young designers and creative talents that stand out for their focus on sustainability _ International partners _UNESCO Creative Cities _Archistar and designers _ The academic, professional and institutional world, through exhibitions and thematic itineraries around town _The general public, through the realization of educational events and entertainment
ACTIVITIES _Sale of exhibition areas to architecture, design and artistic craftsmanship companies _Promotion of Italian and international designers and artists, through two open announcements. A free display area inside Factory Spazio Giovani will be assigned to the winners _Valorisation of Rome s and Lazio s cultural and creative industry, by involving niche companies and organising branding actions that aim at exporting quality national and international products to international fairs and to Milan Expo 2015 _Realization of initiatives and events dedicated to in-depth and scientific studies about sustainable design, architecture and artistic craftsmanship, with a multidisciplinary approach that conjugates quality, experimentation and national and international best practices _Realization of cultural itineraries and events that connect design, architecture and artisan craftsmanship, in the ex- Mattatoio area and in Town _Valorisation of Rome s urban, architectonic and cultural context to increase cultural tourism, and the knowledge of the Contemporary _Creation of an international network of organisers of design, creativity and cultural festivals and events TARGET AUDIENCE Leader and niche companies in the design, architecture and artistic craftsmanship sectors; academics, creative talents, designers, archistars, design and architecture students; citizens and tourists
