1 Sezione Massa Carrara SECOND EDITION OF THE SYMPOSIUM LE MANI PER CREARE Selection and partecipation announcement DESCRIPTION: Chiesa dell Arte and Pemart srl, with the sponsor ship of Carrara Municipal district and the collaboration of Istituto del marmo di Carrara Pietro Tacca, Unione Italiana Ciechi sezione di Massa Carrara and the Omero Museum announce the second edition of the Symposium of marble sculpture with blind artists Le mani per creare which will take place from Monday 18th august to Sunday 24 th august OBJECT: The works will conform to the theme NUTRITION AND ENVIRONMENT. REQUIREMENTS TO BE ADMITTED TO THE SYMPOSIUM : The partecipation to the second edition of the marble sculpture Symposium with blind artists Le mani per creare is saved to people of any nationality, without age limits ipovedenti and/or blind.

2 HOW TO PRESENT CANDIDACY: The application form has to be done like the model attached with at least three (3) photos of the work you would like to present, and should be sent within and not over 28th February 2014 to the or to the following adress: PEMART S.R.L. Via Martiri del Lavoro Carrara (MS) ITALY On the envelope or as the object it will be written It contains the application form for the second edition of the marble sculpture with blind artists Le mani per creare. With the application form, the candidate will attach: 1) No. 3 photos of the work from different sides. 2) Title of the work. 3) Curriculum vitae. 4) Photos of previous works. 5) Copy of an identity document. 6) Certificate of the medical commission of the visual remain. SELECTION OF THE PROJECTS: The technical jury will select 10 partecipants to the Symposium and i twill be composed by: - 1 Sculpture -1 Teacher of the Accademia delle Belle Arti di Carrara. - 1 Art expert. The Technical jury will select the photos based on the creative idea and on the connection to the demanded requisites and the chosen artists should send the clay rough outline of the work they would like to realise within and not over 15th april 2014.

3 The jury decisions are unquestionable. The results will be published on the web site of Chiesa dell Arte ( and Pemart ( The selected artists will be contact by the Pemart s person in charge in order to confirm the attendance to the Symposium. In case of not ability to partecipate the jury will choose a substitute on the connection to the requisites. FEATURES OF THE ARTISTIC PROJECT. The artistic project conseders the compulsory use of the white Carrara marble of the Querciola Quarry n 147. The sculptures should be realised in these high dimensions: MIN. 30 CM MAX 50 CM The artists will be provide of the following material: Row Material(White Carrara Marble of the Querciola quarry n 147) Optional Equipment. Electric connection Air Compressor. Other Equipment. EXECUTION OF THE SYMPOSIUM: The 10 selected artists will realize their works in the Pemart workshop in Carrara. It will be previous realised a marble rough outline with the robot on connection to the sent rough outline and then the artists will complete the works with the necessary equipment. The Symposium will take place from Monday 18 th august to Sunday 24 th august 2014 form 3.00 pm to 10 pm. The artists will be free hosted in selected hotels (Breakfast and dinner). At the end of the symposium the sculptures will be used for one year by Pemart to partecipate to shows and events. Then it will be announced an auction whose proceeds will be given 50% to the artists and 50% to the organization of the next Symposium.

4 GENERAL CONDITIONS: The council administration will not be responsable for any accidents, damages to people or things that could occur during the Symposium. The organization will take care of the works, but will not be responsible of any damages, thefts, or fires that could occur during the event. The personal assurance and the assurance for the works is at the expense of the artist. CONCLUSIONS: I twill be done publicity of the event of newspapers, Internet and on the official page of Facebook of Pemart and Chiesa Dell Arte.
