Freshmen have three choices for their classes, depending on the path they choose IT Fundamentals IT Graphic Design Advanced Computer Math
IT Fundamentals (for Networking and Programming Paths) Create a web page using HTML Introduced to programming Use basic databases Hardware of a computer Investigate networks Understand multi-media presentations. Learn software packages such as: MS word, MS access and MS excel, etc.
IT Graphic Design First course for students in Graphic Arts / Multimedia Path The ability to draw is essential to careers / success in graphic arts Students will draw / design daily and will most likely not use computers in this course
Advanced Computer Math (For Programming Path) Students learn to program in Java Class is the prerequisite for AP Computer Science Students are highly recommended to have an A in Algebra I or be enrolled in geometry to enroll in the course Class includes a ½ weight for the GPA
Students are encouraged to mix and match courses from different paths Must take at least one core IT class each year May move between paths if prerequisites have been met

Do I qualify for the program? How to I sign up??
To Be Eligible for Battlefield s IT Program Must live in the Battlefield base attendance area or be chosen from those interested from outside of the attendance zone (lottery) 2.4 GPA (first semester report card) Interest in technology Good behavior and attendance Submit online application by Feb 1 st Acceptance upon the condition that grades, behavior and attendance remain in good standing
Transfers / Lottery Process Students who successfully meet the criteria of the application, and would like to attend the Battlefield IT program but live outside the attendance zone will be chosen at random The number of transfer students will be determined by the number of available slots in each path.
Timelines Online application is due FEB 1 Students are notified of acceptance FEB 19 - Letters mailed or electronic method of notification
Transportation Express transportation will be provided for the transfer students (typically pickup points are middle and elementary schools) Express stops change each year and are not guaranteed. Stops are normally created when there are 6 or more students for a stop
