ACCOUNTANT JOB DESCRIPTION Position: Supervisor: Time: Accountant Chief Financial Officer Hourly, exempt (Administrative/Professional) Summary Description: The Accountant performs complex accounting functions; conducts financial, statistical, and analytical studies; prepares financial statements, and maintains all general ledger accounting including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and payroll reporting. In addition, the Accountant will maintain detailed project accounting including budget to actual statements by project. The Accountant will appropriately record revenue based on percentage of completion or completed contract as appropriate. The Accountant defines and writes company guidelines; and, in conjunction with the CFO and President, defines policies and procedures. The position interfaces across all areas of the organization, requiring sophisticated communication and professional skills while offering a broad exposure to a growing solar engineering, procurement, and construction company. Primary Responsibilities: Financial Analysis 1. Prepares reports and analysis and supports the development of new requests to meet the changing business needs 2. Obtains relevant data from appropriate sources, ensures quality and accuracy of data, and delivers timely recommendations 3. Assists with other special projects as needed Accounting 1. Manages general ledger accounting for ASI 2. Processes weekly accounts payable 3. Manages accounts receivable and billing 4. Prepared monthly bank reconciliation and weekly cash flow reporting 5. Prepares monthly financial statements including Profit and Loss Statement and Balance Sheet 6. Prepares weekly job costing reports to be reviewed by Operations Manager, CFO, and President 7. Prepares additional month-end reports including revenue recognition for percentage of completion projects 8. Conducts sales tax reporting for ASI 9. Performs oversight of costs/income 10. Manages ASI payroll 11. Manages benefits billing 12. QuickBooks or other financial accounting administrator Human Resources Management 1. Manages Human Resources reporting functions for ASI 2. Manages new hire paperwork 3. Processes employee benefit enrollment and changes 4. Ensures compliance with all state and federal laws QuickBooks Administrator 1. Responsible for ongoing development and implementation 2. Establishes best practices Maximizes QuickBooks to its full potential 3. Conducts team training as needed for QuickBooks users 4. Implements appropriate Project Management procedures 5. Customizes the software according to company needs 6. Builds customized reports 7. Ensures functionality 8. Facilitates and builds improvements 9. Monitors process to ensure quality, process improvements and optimal functionality 10. When required, will support the organization in determining a more robust project management software

Training and Collaboration 1. Provides ongoing supports and coaching for office staff as needed 2. Collaborates with all business departments Team Work 1. Work cooperatively with CFO, commercial projects team and management Other 2. Attends meetings and educational activities to stay up-to-date on the latest developments, trends, and regulations in areas of specialty 3. Other duties as assigned Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Bachelor s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field is preferred, with a minimum of two years experience in an accounting setting; experience in construction industry a plus. Ability to research and identify problems, conduct analysis independently and in collaboration with others Strong track record of career advancement Experience preparing and consolidating long-range plans and short-term plans Strong QuickBooks experience a plus Strong Project Accounting experience a plus Hands-on experience performing financial close activities Deep understanding of financial statements and their inter-relationships Strong financial acumen with the ability to solve complex problems Focus on critical thinking with the ability to drive decisions and execute effectively Attention to detail with the ability to summarize into key points/ actionable items Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Ability to thrive and manage change in a high growth environment
