Regulations Governing the Granting of Scholarships: Scholarship(s) shall be awarded annually to assist female residents of the Los Angeles South Bay who are members of either a National Panhellenic Sorority or one of its Los Angeles South Bay alumnae chapters. Panhellenic is an association of sorority women dedicated to the purpose of friendship, leadership, scholarship, and service to others. The scholarship is awarded on the basis of academic achievement, contribution to school and community and financial need. The Panhellenic Alumnae Southbay Association is a 501C3 non-profit corporation and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in the administration of its scholarship program. Scholarships will be awarded for the 2016-2017 academic year. Qualifications: The boundaries of the Los Angeles South Bay area are the communities of El Segundo to the north, San Pedro to the south, and Carson to the east. An undergraduate applicant must be an active, dues paying member-in-good-standing of a National Panhellenic Conference Sorority (see list of all NPC sororities on page 7 of this application) with a minimum GPA of 3.0, and who also: is a graduate of a South Bay high school (see list on page 6 of this application) OR is attending a university in the South Bay (i.e., CSU Dominquez Hills) In addition, a graduate applicant must be a member in good standing of the Los Angeles-South Bay alumnae chapter of her National Panhellenic Conference Sorority. Completed applications must be postmarked no later than February 15, 2016. Please Note: Collegiate individuals may apply each year; however, PASBA University Scholarship Award Recipients (scholarships received after joining a sorority) are capped at a maximum of two awards per individual. Applications must include: 1. An unofficial transcript from each undergraduate and graduate institution attended. Class ranking will be accepted if the school does not calculate grade point averages. 2. Two letters of recommendation (see attached forms) completed from the following options: a sorority advisor, a Panhellenic advisor, a professor/dean or an employer.
