Structure of the Games Starter team Games Starters will be divided into functional areas, (FAs) which will in turn be divided into 'teams, each with an allocated Team Leader. Team Leaders will take their direction from Venue s, who will take their direction from Games Operations via the Games Starter Programme. All Games Starters will be supported by the Games Starter Support team. Their main aim is to look out for the welfare of the Games Starters and provide help where necessary. Team Leaders All Games Starter Teams Venue/Sports Team Leader The team leader will have management and support responsibility for a designated team of Games Starters. Team Leaders are a vital element of the communication pathway within the Games. They will also have a responsibility to safeguard the welfare of their team. Specifics of the role: To manage and support your team of Games Starters and ensure they are able to succeed in any tasks you give to them. Sign in & out all members of your Games Starters Team, and report any absences. To refer any safeguarding concerns to the relevant member/s of the Event Welfare team. To safeguard the welfare of your team of Games Starters. To support the training and mentoring of the other Games Starters. Functional area: Ceremonies www.cpsport.org/nottingham-2015-world-games/ Awards Party Venue Awards Party The Awards Party will be responsible for the preparation of the medals and recipients in preparation of the evening medal presentations in the Athletes Village. This may include; locating, registering & briefing the recipients etc. Spectator Event Welfare Event Marshals Event marshals will help spectators find their way around Games venues, find their seat, providing photo registration where needed and referring them to information desks for additional information if required etc. In some cases they will also be deployed to accreditation check points where they will be responsible for ensure that only accredited personnel access certain areas of Games venues. /CP2015WorldGames @CP2015Games Page 7

Spectator Services Event Welfare Information/Help Desk The information desks at each venue will deal with day-to-day enquires which will vary greatly from venue to venue, but may include: ticketing, registering for/lost accreditation, directions, the completion of camera registration forms and general enquires. These desks will also be selling selected merchandise for the Games. Spectator Services Conference Information/help Desk The information desks at each venue will deal with day-to-day enquires which will vary greatly from venue to venue, but may include: ticketing, registering for/lost accreditation, directions, the completion of camera registration forms and general enquires. The information desk at the Conference will start as the Welcome Desk for delegate registrations, then transition into the general information desk for the event. Functional area: Conference Workshop Hosts Conference Workshop Host Workshop Hosts will assist with the operational running of the conference by directing attendees to the relevant workshops, helping presenters set-up and collecting all presentations after the sessions, ready for distribution after the conference. Field of Play Sport Announcer Games Announcers will have to main aims 1) inform the Athletes of when to report to Sport Officials, Call Forward Room, 2) keep the spectators up to date with events during competition. Field of Play Sport Athlete Marshals Functional area: Field of play Field of Play Athlete Marshals will be deployed into the Call Forward Room of both athletics and swimming. Once the Sports Officials have registered the Athletes the Athlete Marshals will direct the Athletes to and from their event. Sport Field of Play Assistants Field of Play Assistants will provide services such as; equipment management (ensuring equipment is safe and in the right place at the right time), pitch management. Functional area: Field of play www.cpsport.org/nottingham-2015-world-games/ Field of Play Sport Officials Assistant Officials Assistants will provide a support role for the Sports Officials, ensuring they have everything that they need during competition. This role is essential as once competition has started the Sports Officials will not be able to leave the Field of Play. Results Sport Resulters Resulters will be responsible for processing the results provided by the Sports Officials, providing data entry into the relevant systems, in a timely manner. Results Sport Results Runners Results Runners will be the link between the Sports Officials and the Resulters, carrying the raw results data for processing. As well as sharing processed results data to the spectators and Games Operations. /CP2015WorldGames @CP2015Games Page 13

Functional area: Media www.cpsport.org/nottingham-2015-world-games/ Games Operations Media Media Assistant Media assistants will be located within the central Games Operations Team and support the Media with; developing and posting of online content to the website, creation and editing of Games videos. They maybe also be asked to respond to requests from the local media and sharing press releases. Field Based Media Media Games Image Capture These individuals will be tasked with capturing the Games through stills photography and/or moving video capture. This media will then be used by the Media Assistants to create their online content and press releases. /CP2015WorldGames @CP2015Games Page 15

Field Based Media Media Games Reporter Games Reporters will be responsible for interviewing pre-selected individuals/teams. The interviews will be recorded either; audio, video and/or written word. These interviews will be used by the Media Assistants to create their online content and press releases etc, In addition, Games Reporters will also capture the Games and share it to the world via the Games Social Media Channels. Venue Team Hosts (Athletes Village) Team Host Team Hosts will be the first and last Games faces that the athletes will see. They will travel on Games Transport to meet the athletes from the airport, travel back with them to the Athlete s Village and help them to check into the Village. Where appropriate Team Hosts may also help induct their allocated team into the Village and help them become familiar with their new surroundings. Functional area: Team hosts When the Games have finished, the Team Hosts will accompany their allocated team back to the airport for their return journey home. Page 18 @CP2015Games /CP2015WorldGames

Classification Venue Classification Assistant Classification Assistants will help International Classifiers in each sport to register athletes, and help them transition from each phase of the classification process. Athlete Services Event Welfare Welcome Desk Each Sport will have a designated Welcome Desk for their athletes. Here the athletes will register for their event/s, receiving any documentation they may require (race numbers etc.). Spectator Services Venue Mascot & Mascot Escort The role of Louey, our Games Mascot, will be played by a Games Starter. This will involved wearing the Louey costume, getting into character and visiting various Games and pre-games Venues, posing for photos and bringing fun to the event. Louey will be supported at all times by Mascot Escorts, who will help Louey find his way around the venues and look out for his safety. Functional area: Venue support Set-up Mascot and Mascot Escort volunteers will rotate roles throughout the day. Venue Set-up Assistant Set-up Assistants will help with the creation of Games Venues, and with the take down of these venues. Page 22 @CP2015Games /CP2015WorldGames

Functional area: Venue support www.cpsport.org/nottingham-2015-world-games/ Spectator Services Venue Transport Coordinator Transport Coordinators will help Athletes, Sports Officials and Games Starter (where appropriate) find the correct Games Transport. They will work with our Games Transport Partner to achieve this. Venue Support Games Starter Venue Venue s will support and manage the identified teams of Games Starters deployed to their allocated venue. This will include the registration of Games Starters, re -deployment where required, problem solving between Games Starter and Team Leader, and/or with spectators. They will manage these teams through the allocated Team Leaders. /CP2015WorldGames @CP2015Games Page 23

Games Starter Support Venue Games Starter Supporter Games Starter Supporters are there to support the Games Starters at their designated Games venue. Identifying any welfare issues of those Games Starters and helping to respond any such issues that may occur. They may also be required to relieve any Games Starters if required. Welfare Event Welfare Welfare Officer The role of the Welfare Officer is 1) act as a point of contact for the reporting of any welfare/safeguarding concerns, and 2) to recognise any welfare/safeguarding policy breeches, referring information & concerns on to the relevant individual. Welfare officers will be allocated to every sport in the Games programme. In addition, Welfare Officers will be deployed to each Games venue. /CP2015WorldGames @CP2015Games Page 25 Functional area: Welfare
