CHC30312 Certificate III in Home and Community Care COMMUNITY SERVICES This qualification addresses work in client homes and other community settings under regular supervision within clearly defined organisational guidelines and service plans. These workers Carry out activities to maintain personal care and/ or other activities of living for people in their own homes or in other community settings. They also carry out activities related to an individualised plan and report directly to a supervisor and are not responsible for other workers. Occupational titles may include: Care assistant / worker, Home maintenance worker, Care service employees, In-home respite giver, Community care worker, Personal care assistant, Disability support worker or Home care worker. Police checks and Work Placement is mandatory. These workers may apply knowledge and skills to provide training and support to people with disabilities to enhance their ability to achieve greater levels of independence, self reliance and community participation, report to service managers and may liaise with health professionals and other service agencies, may work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise a limited number of staff. Work may include training and support to promote independence and community participation, in a variety of settings including residential and centre-based programs. Report to service managers and liaise with professionals and other service providers, may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a limited number of other workers.
