Riverina Community College (RCC) has been a part of the Community Visitors Scheme for more than 20 years. The CVS aims to improve the quality of life of aged residents who are lonely or socially isolated by matching visitors to a resident using common interests and backgrounds to achieve the best outcomes for both residents and visitors. The existing CVS program provides a one on one visit by a volunteer to a recipient in an Australian Government subsidised aged care home. RCC has been granted an expansion to the current program which will also extend to group visitation within an aged care facility consisting of a volunteer visiting with two or more care recipients at the same time. The new program also includes one on one visiting by a volunteer to a care recipient within private homes to those in receipt of a Home Care Package. CVS is available to recipients of Australian Government subsidised residential aged care services or Home Care Packages who have been identified by their aged care provider as experiencing or being at risk of isolation through social or cultural reasons or because of disability. RCC is committed in providing a high quality service to the aged residents across the Riverina. ENROLMENT CONDITIONS ENROLMENT I must enrol and pay the course fee before the course commences, unless I have negotiated a payment plan with the College. (Not available for all courses) Enrolments for most courses are open to all people aged 15 or over. If I am under the age of 15, I may only enrol in a course that indicates it is for younger students, unless the College has given me permission to enrol. I may not bring any person who is not enrolled in the course with me, unless that person is my carer and this has been pre-organised with the College. I must meet the pre-requisites (where these apply) detailed in the course description. If I have a disability and need support to participate in a class, I should discuss my individual needs with the Course co-ordinator before completing my enrolment. The College reserves the right to change the advertised course details should the need arise, and to refuse any enrolments as permitted by law. REFUNDS The College will refund all or part of my course if; I have over paid the course fee. The College cancels the course for any reason, I have evidence of medical hardship or another extenuating circumstance which prevents my attendance, or I give five (5) working days notice that I have changed my mind about attending the course. An administration charge of $27.50 will apply. The College will not usually refund course fees where I request a refund because I: Change my mind about attending the course after the course commences; Change jobs, Change work hours, Move out of the area or am made redundant or retrenched. TRANSFERS I may apply for a transfer of course fees to another course if I give five (5) working days notice of cancelling my enrolment. An administration charge of $27.50 will apply. Only one transfer per term is permitted, unless the transfer relates to a course/s that the College cancels for any reason, In this case, the administration fee will not apply. Riverina Community College (RCC) must comply with the requirement for the protection of student fees as set out in the Standards for NVR Registered Training Organisations.
