Changed your mind? If you have completed year 1 of your degree and have decided you would like to specialise, it s not too late. Seek advice from the Faculty of Arts Office if you change your mind (although it may result in having to do some extra courses). It s also possible to change degrees, and in fact many students do. If you re transferring to a similar degree, you can usually get credit. Transfer Advice Day www.adelaide.edu.au/student/transfer/ is held twice a year (in April and Aug). All Faculties are present to speak to. Apply to transfer online for semester 1 2016 by Friday 11 th December 2015. www.adelaide.edu.au/student/services/internaltransfers/ If you ve already completed a semester, you can take a leave of absence for one or two semesters. General rule: you must complete your degree within 9 years of starting (for a three year degree) see http://arts.adelaide.edu.au/current-students/handbook/defer.html. University of Adelaide 11
Summer/Winter School Acceleration Summer and Winter School is a great way to accelerate your study, catch up on missed courses or spread your study load over the whole year. Courses are taught in intensive mode over Summer (Dec - Feb) and Winter (June - July). Usually a Summer or Winter School course will be an open elective towards your degree. Due to the intense nature we recommend you only enrol into one course during these periods. See this website for more information: www.arts.adelaide.edu.au/currentstudents/undergrad/courses/summer/.
