Job Summary: This position provides support to the Community Development Manager in the areas of event marketing and strategy, as well as the oversight, logistical coordination and execution of FSS events and programs. The goal of this position is to increase the awareness of events through a targeted strategy, working with the media and communications specialist and department manager, and Department Directors to achieve goals and an awareness of the FSS brand in the community through event marketing. Education Experience Minimum Qualifications Associate degree or relevant work experience required. Bachelor s degree preferred. A minimum of three years experience in planning, managing and creating goals and strategies for events. Must have proven experience in problem solving, vendor management, working under pressure and being creative with varying event budgets. Strong client service and communication skills. Registration Job Duties % of Time Essential Duties Work with department manager to plan event marketing, strategy and logistics 30% Execute, plan and organize events 50% Work with communications specialist to develop event support and communications 5% Produce event process manuals, templates, written policies, check requests, project lists and timelines as needed Identify areas that need event volunteers and training and work with community 5% development specialist to support as needed. Manage Constant Contact, sending out announcements and develop and maintain calendar of events internally and on line. Other Duties Research events in partnership with the Development Manager Support the event registration process with department administrator as needed Develop on line registration process Aid in the coordination of non- FSS or Foster Parent Association events as needed Plan and distribute event materials as needed. Attend meetings related to events 10%
as requested by department manager Maintain event database. Must be able to drive to various event locations for inspection and execution Attend appropriate meetings Perform other duties Supervisory/Decision Making Authority The position does not require customary supervision and management of at least 2 or more full-time employees. Handling any unforeseen complications that may arise during an event 2. Scheduling conflicts and volunteer management Contribution and Impact This position will be responsible for ensuring events stay on budget, as well as soliciting new vendors and managing current vendors. The coordinator will also be responsible for maintaining a positive attitude when dealing with internal and external clients.
