Building Business Resilience If there is one thing we need in our managerial armoury today, it is new thinking for business resilience: the capacity to recover quickly from difficulties toughness. How do you get resilience? You build it. RMIT University RMIT University is a global university of technology and design. It is a university that creates and disseminates knowledge to meet the needs of industry and the community; a university committed to developing the skills and passion needed to lead, contribute to and participate in our rapidly changing world. With over 120 years of history, RMIT University is one of Australia s largest educational institutions, with more than 70,000 participants studying in Melbourne, regional Australia, and Vietnam and at partner institutions throughout Asia. Executive Education Staying ahead of the crowd and securing a sustainable competitive advantage in an increasingly complex global business environment requires an expanded mind-set. RMIT University s Executive Education team specialises in the design and delivery of highly practical programs and has worked with corporate and government entities at a local and international level to meet this demand. Over the years, we have successfully delivered a wide range of workforce development programs to many local and international partners, including clients in China, Vietnam, India, and France. Drawing on College of Business expertise and contacts, our programs focus on the real world and the challenges it presents. Each program is a learning journey, providing participants with the opportunity to analyse and explore challenges and practical, timely, real-life examples and ideas. Participants become partners in a collective learning process as they leverage new skills, techniques and capabilities and discover more effective ways of doing things. Public and customised programs Executive education courses can be run in-house, at venues away from the business, or at RMIT. Wherever they are held, the focus is on relevance and tangible, effective learning and development. We offer public programs like our masterclass series which can also be customised to suit the specifics of your business or organisation or alternatively, we can develop specific programs to meet your needs. Experts in the field As part of a leading technological university, the Executive Education team has access to a comprehensive team of academics with specialist expertise in key topics including leadership, management, team building, strategy, innovation, marketing, finance, and accounting and information technology. Our close relationship with industry gives us access to consultants and leaders drawn from the business, government and the not-for-profit sector. This combination of expertise means our programs fully integrate academic knowledge and research with real-world practicalities. Delivery format RMIT executive education programs utilise a combination of lectures, presentations by experts in the field, simulations and case studies, group and individual activities and where practical site visits. Many programs can incorporate pre-course activities such as personal interviews, coaching and mentoring, and other preparatory activities. To reinforce learning post course we can develop a range of follow-up activities including one-on-one coaching to sustain the focus on the implementation of new ideas. Facilities Executive education programs are held at our dedicated facility within the Emily McPherson Building, home to RMIT s Graduate School of Business and Law. Magnificently refurbished in 2010, the Emily McPherson College Building provides state-of-the-art but tranquil spaces for participants to come together, learn and share ideas and experiences.
