A. Metaframe Login Chapter 2 LOGGING INTO LIMS Logging into LIMS takes two steps because the LIMS application resides on the FDOT Citrix Metaframe Server. Before you can log into the LIMS application, you must log into the Citrix Metaframe Server. 1. Click on the Internet shortcut on your desktop to the appropriate Metaframe environment to access the LIMS application. For training purposes and practice, use the SYSTEST Environment. For actual job input, use the Production Environment. At the time of publishing the website addresses are: SYSTEST https://fdotnfusetest.dot.state.fl.us/citrix/metaframe/auth/login.aspx Production https://fdotnfuse.dot.state.fl.us/citrix/metaframe/auth/login.aspx Check the State Materials Office Infonet website for Department users or check with your local data center to obtain the latest address for the Citrix Metaframe. 7 of 180
2. If you do not have a shortcut on your desktop, click on the Internet Explorer icon. 3. Type in the website address in the address line. 4. Press Enter to navigate to the login page. 8 of 180

B. LIMS Login The second stage for logging into LIMS is logging into the LIMS application. Once you have completed the steps for logging into the Citrix Metaframe, the main login screen for LIMS will appear. 1. Enter your FDOT User Id and network password. This is the same User ID and password you used to log into the Citrix Metaframe. If you are a FDOT user, this is the same password you use to log into the FDOT network. 2. Click OK. 11 of 180
A Word Pad window with news and information regarding LIMS will appear. 3. Read the message(s). 4. To close the Word Pad window and use LIMS, click on the X at the top of the Word Pad window. Each environment will have a pop up message with information relevant to the environment. 12 of 180
Once you are logged into LIMS, you can identify which environment you are in by looking at the Login tab. In the Production environment, the Login tab is labeled as Login. In the SYSTEST environment, the Login tab is labeled as Login/SYSTEST. 13 of 180
C. Login Error Messages There are two types of login error messages. There are error messages you will receive when trying to log into the Citrix Metaframe server and error messages you will receive when trying to log into the LIMS application. If you receive an error message before you actually reach the LIMS login page, this is probably due to an error regarding your FDOT userid or account. If you are not an FDOT employee, your userid ACCOUNT has an expiration date. If your userid account has expired, you will need to contact the FDOT Project Administrator or FDOT Project Manager to coordinate having your account expiration date updated through the local OIS office. If you can log into the Citrix Metaframe and don t have a LIMS icon, you will need to have your userid added to the LIMS Citrix Metaframe group. Again, you will need to contact the FDOT Project Administrator or FDOT Project Manager to coordinate having your userid added to the correct group(s). If you can log into the Citrix Metaframe and have a LIMS icon and are able to reach the LIMS login page, but you receive an error message logging into the LIMS application, you likely have an issue with your userid not being in the LIMS application userid table. Contact your local LIMS District Application Coordinator to verify that you have been added as a LIMS user to the database. Your userid will not be added until you have completed the FDOT Computer Security Access Request, completed the LIMS Computer Based training and the OIS office has completed processing your userid request. For examples of the forms for new and existing users, and a link to the Computer Based Training, visit the State Materials Office website. http://www.dot.state.fl.us/statematerialsoffice/laboratory/lims/index.shtm 14 of 180
NOTE: There will be times when the LIMS application is unavailable due to application maintenance. You will receive a message LBMGR Group #2 is locked. When this occurs, please wait and try again later. The maintenance usually takes no longer than thirty to sixty minutes. 15 of 180
D. Printer Setup NOTE: Since you are logged into the Citrix Metaframe, in order to print you may need to request to have your printer drivers loaded onto the Citrix Metaframe server. If the report appears with odd characters or font, it may be an indication that the printer drivers for your printer are not loaded on the Citrix Metaframe server. Most common printer drivers are loaded on the Citrix Metaframe server. If you print a report with incorrect font, contact the FDOT service desk to request to have your printer drivers loaded. LIMS has many report options. Some are basic reports that appear on the screen. This is known in LIMS as an RGEN report. Users define parameters in popup boxes to generate these reports. They appear similar to this in LIMS: 16 of 180
Other reports are generated with a version of the Crystal Reports application. Users define parameters in the Crystal Report writer to generate these reports. They appear like this in LIMS. For reports, you may have to adjust your printer settings so the document will print correctly. 1. Choose the File option from the power bar. 2. Click on the Printer Setup option. 17 of 180
3. Choose the printer. 4. Click on the Setup option. You will be given options to adjust your printer settings, depending on your printer. 5. Change settings as needed. 6. Click OK. The settings dialog box will close. 7. Click OK again to save the changes. 18 of 180
Once you have made the adjustments to the printer setup, you can print. 1. Click on the File option again. 2. Click on the Print option to print. NOTE: A Status Screen is not a report. Because of this, changing the print options will not change what prints for a Status Screen. However you can get the status screens to print on a single page by resizing the screen. 1. Move your mouse s pointer over the right edge of the screen until a double arrow appears. 19 of 180
2. Then, holding down the left mouse button, drag in the side of the screen. It may take a couple of tries to get the size right for your printer. Once you find the right size the screen will print to a single page. 20 of 180
