The furniture and china are vintage and you can play board games, meaning that this place is Groningen s best attempt of a hipster bar. The coffee is roasted on site. The food is served in small portions to encourage food sharing. The personnel is very relaxed about dietary wishes vegetarian, vegan, gluten free, you name it! They also serve a variety of special beers. It s self-service, so you order your stone oven pizza s, burgers, fries and beers at the bar. The food is decent. On Thursdays, the restaurant is often packed with students and a DJ is playing. Pernikkel 13 to 17 Aweg 2 Yet another restaurant for young and old urban inhabitants. Most of the interior of this café and restaurant is self-made, recycled or vintage. The focus lies on the regularly changing menu delicious self-made cakes and food. The wine selection is also very nice. The atmosphere is quieter than in the Concerthuis or Uurwerker. As a result, during the day, you often meet people working on their laptops with a fresh mint tea. Also, it is only a 3 minute walk from the Kasteel.
