1. Construction of Bulk Cargo Handling Jetty Contractors fully mobilized. Various equipment have been positioned. Testing Devices all assembled and work is in progress. Contractors: Amandi Holdings. Construction of Bulk Cargo Handling Jetty Contractor on site, piling, concrete and pre-cast works on-going. Automatic Concrete Batching Plant for production of special concrete for construction Loading Barge conveyor and construction platform The objective of this project is to increase the capacity of the Port, provide additional berths with a view to reducing waiting time of vessels.

2. Dredging of Canoe Basin/Wreck Removal Reconstruction of Net-Mending Wharf, Tema Fishing Harbour Dredging of Canoe Basin and Wreck Removal Contractors: DMMI GH LTD Job completed in May, 2013. Cost of Project: US$2.4million Reconstruction of Net-Mending Wharf Contractors: FNB Investment Ltd Work to complete in September, 2013 Cost of Project: GHC5.5.million Dredging to depth of 2metres Main dredging and cleaning works for the canoe basin completed. Concrete block-wall installed for wharf structure, backfilling completed. On-going reconstruction of Net-mending Wharf and Canoe Basin, repair of breakwater and resurfacing of access driveway The dredging will ease congestion and remove threats to navigation, contain deepdrafted fishing vessels and securely berth more of such vessels at the same time. Netmending activities of artisanal fisher folks in a safe environment will also be restored.

3. Optical Character Recognition Systems at Main Gates. Civil Works on-going driveways, jersey barriers, camera frames. Cost of Project: US$448,000.00 aprox. Project to complete: November, 2013 Eight (8) Optical Character Recognition Systems are being installed at the main gates of the port to capture, store and distribute container and vehicle movement in and out of the port. Installation works at one of the gates in progress This facility will ensure the safety, efficient and smooth management of container and vehicular movement to and from the port. Trucks and drivers not registered with the system cannot enter the port. Gates will look like this on completion

4. Purchase of Multi-purpose Tug Boat Tug Boat Vice Admiral Owusu- Ansah Manufacturers: DAMEN SHIPYARD, Netherlands Cost of Tug Boat: Euro 6.9million Vice Admiral Owusu Ansah was a professional Naval Officer and Director General of GPHA from 1988 to 1992. During this period, he presided over the successful implementation of major port reforms that took place just after the merger of the defunct companies that gave birth to GPHA. He died in January 2009. The Tugboat is a multi-purpose, highly manoeuvrable vessel for harbour and coastal berthing operations as well as offshore towing. It is the first of its kind in terms of manoeuvrability to be acquired by GPHA. The boat which has a bollard pull of 56 tons is also equipped for external fire fighting and oil pollution control.

5. Purchase of Security Patrol Boat Security Patrol Boat Cletus Adugbire Manufacturers: MARITIME PARTNER, Norway Cost of Patrol Boat: Euro 2.2million Cletus Adugbire was with the Security Department of Tema Port. Highly disciplined, hardworking and courageous junior staff who always did all he could to prevent thugs from entering the port. While on duty at the Tema Fishing Harbour he was clubbed by an assailant resulting to his death on 15 September 2010. The boat is to ensure security in the harbour, anchorage and its adjoining areas. The boat has a maximum speed of 35 knots. This will enhance GPHA s preparedness to fight any activities of armed bandits in our pilotage district.

6. Purchase of Container Handling Equipment Container Handling Equipment Supplier: Pasico Ghana Limited Cost: Euro 6.2million Various cargo handing equipment have been procured and deployed at various parts of the port. These Rubber-tyred gantry cranes arrived in June, 2013 New Reachstackers and Forklifts on display The objective is to meet the demands of increased cargo volumes.

7. Purchase of Container Handling Equipment Container Handling Equipment Supplier: Pasico Ghana Limited Cost: Euro 6.2million Various cargo handing equipment have been procured and deployed at various parts of the port. 8. Construction of 130-bed Maritime Hospital The Hospital will provide efficient health delivery services and a one-stop referral medical centre of excellence to the Port Community and the General Public in Tema area. This facility will add-on to the existing health facilities in the metropolis. Facilities include: 5 ultra-modern Surgical Theatres; MRRI, CT, X-Ray and other Scanners; Maternity, Male, Female, Children Wings; ICU; VIP Ward and other Wards; Accident/Trauma Centre; Laboratories Contractors: China State Hualong Gh. Ltd Works to be completed December 2015 Cost of Project: GHC46million : Facility Structure - GHC18million Medical Equipment/Installation - GHC28million

9. Rehabilitation of Loading Arms at Oil Berth Contractors: FMC Technologies, France The Completed Works included: Replacement of LPG loading arm Rehabilitation of 8inch loading arms for finished products. Rehabilitation of 10inch loading arm for crude oil. Cost of Project: Euro 292,784 Replaced LPG Loading Arms discharging Gas With these in place, reliable and smooth delivery of petroleum products to and from Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) is assured.

10. Consultancy Services for the Design of Satellite Truck Village at Ashaiman Contractors: Associated Consultants & GIBBS International, Kenya May, 2013 December, 2013 Cost of Project: US$450,000 A World Bank Project Construction begins: 2014 Draft Report submitted by Consultant. Final Designs and Reports being worked on Drawings of Transit Park Transit Park on Completion Parking areas for trucks, other vehicles, agents parking, staff parking. Documentation and Processing Facility Hostel Facilities and Cafeteria Maintenance Facility This project will serve as safe and secured central truck park for haulage trucks. It will ease congestion around the port and also facilitate transit trade through Ghana.

Consulting Services for Takoradi Port Expansion Contractor: JV Sellhorn Ing mbh and Hamburg Port Consultants HPC GmbH Germany Cost of Service: GHC12million Funding: GPHA Contract Period: April 2013 March 2014 OBJECTIVE OF PORT EXPANSION To safely take in modern, bigger and deep-drafted vessels, reduce ship turnaround time, and also provide service and logistics base for the oil field. Phase 1 development also creates opportunities for private investment in the development of other important commercial facilities. STATUS: Feasibility Studies and Master Plan Review have been concluded. PPP and Transaction Advisory Services: GPHA has completed the revised RFP and submitted to the Bank for No Objection. Construction Supervision and Project Management Services have commenced.

Construction Works for Takoradi Port Upgrade & Expansion Contractor: Jan de Null NV, Belgium Cost of Works: 197.0million Funding: KBC Bank Loan, Belgium Contract Period: Nov. 2012 to Mar 2016 Construction Works include: - Breakwater extension: 1.15km - Dredging to 16m chart datum - Reclamation - Bulk Cargo Handling berths for manganese, bauxite, & Clinker OBJECTIVE OF PORT EXPANSION STATUS OF PROJECT: Designs, Geotechnical Investigations surveys and the Detail Design Reports concluded for construction. Contractor is on site truck, bulldozers, cranes and other landbased equipment mobilized. CDB loan component for Access Roads, other marine works, yet to be disbursed. Contractor CHEC is on stand-by. To safely take in modern, bigger and deep-drafted vessels, reduce ship turnaround time, and also provide service and logistics base for the oil field.

Takoradi Port Upgrade and Expansion Mobilization yard being prepared by the Contractor, Jan de Null NV. for the Port Expansion Works. Several equipment have been delivered to site.

Feasibility Studies for the Provision of Additional Facilities for Sekondi ABS Fishing Harbour, Takoradi Port Contractor: JICA/ECHO Corporation Cost of Studies: US$0.3m Funding: JICA/Japan Government Study Period: July, 2013 to February, 2014 Additional Facilities include: Lay-by wharf, 160metres Fish net-mending area Ice plant (30tons-per-day) Fuel dispensing station for fishing vessels Administration block STATUS OF STUDY: Feasibility Studies have commenced. Site investigations and multistakeholder meetings have also commenced. Cost of providing Additional Facilities is approximately US$25 million; to be confirmed at end of feasibility studies and designs. The facility will provide additional berthing facilities and promote conducive atmosphere for fishing activities.

Construction and Supply of Mooring Buoys Contractor: Zeni Lite Singapore Cost of Works: US$3 million approx. Funding: GPHA Contract Period: August December, 2013 Construction of the mooring buoys is completed. Processes for shipment is underway and expected to arrive by September, 2013. The Buoys will ensure the safety of bigger and deep-drafted vessels that are moored midstream. It plays a very key role in the stability of stagnant vessels.
