To be also noted that the pilotage of vessels of more than 184 is made with payment of 400 usd (200/inward and 200/outward) to the pilots. All berths are available for containers if necessary / ISPS : Level 1 / Weather : Heavy thunderstorms and torrential rains fall during rainy season : Mid-October to Mid-May / State owned stevedoring.

The river can be entered directly from the sea in deep water. Transit time from Banana to Boma is approximately four hours depending on river current and ship's speed. Boma port is located on portside of Congo river. ISPS : Level 1 / Weather : Heavy thunderstorms and torrential rains fall during rainy season : Mid-October to Mid-May / State owned stevedoring.
