Solution Overview SmartPlan is a revolutionary interactive-video software system that increases retirement plan participation, helps fulfill fiduciary duty, and reduces expenses for meetings, travel, plan booklets, postage, and other costs. Introducing SmartPlan Enterprise: an engagement engine that combines the power of multimedia outreach, HDTV, and interactive software, to foster: Higher enrollment Increased contribution levels Fosters deeper relationships with participants Improved financial education Reduces plan costs Helps fulfill fiduciary duty SmartPlan is designed to engage employees in their retirement plans. Powerful multimedia outreach drives employees to the sophisticated online SmartPlan environment, which provides a personalized experience. Video hosts discuss plan features and the benefits of participation, and then guide users through an interactive process that helps them discover their individual retirement needs and risk tolerance, as well as choose plan investments and contribution amounts. How it Works SmartPlan is a system of multimedia outreach and rich internet applications that fosters a virtuous cycle of enhanced employee engagement in the retirement plan. SmartPlan Enterprise is designed to act as an ongoing system of plan promotion, utilizing multimedia outreach email, video, and print to drive participants to the interactive-video SmartPlan experience inside the participant website. Once participants complete their plan enrollment or updates through SmartPlan, the system retains nonpersonally identifiable data about their choices, which can be used as the basis for further promotion and engagement. Personalized, Interactive-Video User Experience The SmartPlan user experience is designed to reside within a secure participant website, and work in conjunction with the plan recordkeeping database to deliver a personalized experience. (A non-integrated version of SmartPlan can be deployed, utilizing many of the features and functionality of the integrated version.) Solution Proposal! Page 3 of 9! 7/6/12

When SmartPlan is launched within the plan website, video hosts offer a video overview of plan features such as auto-enrollment, matching contributions, and loans that is customizable for each employer s plan. Using simple interactive forms, our video hosts then guide participants through a complete plan enrollment or update process, including individual retirement needs and risk tolerance surveys, selection of investments and deferrals by percentage of pay or dollar amount. Additionally, SmartPlan Enterprise can be used to host electronic copies of Summary Plan Documents and other plan materials, reducing printing and mailing costs and helping to fulfill a provider s fiduciary duty, by recording and storing all participant interactions. And SmartPlan Enterprise can be fully integrated with the provider database, facilitating automated user enrollment and updates. Custom Outreach Campaigns While the SmartPlan interactive-video user interface is the most visible aspect of a comprehensive solution to engage participants, outreach is the engine that truly drives the system. And because outreach is such an important part of what makes SmartPlan Enterprise so effective, our team works closely with each client to devise and implement an optimal outreach program. You can use the integrated email and video outreach templates, or we can customize a campaign with your content. HTML email templates for SmartPlan Enterprise can be dropped into your existing outreach workflow, or as an optional, additional service our client services team can handle all aspects of an email campaign, from creation through fulfillment. Video Ads SmartPlan Enterprise also includes short video ads we call them vads that can be placed on any website. These short promotions can include embedded links to the SmartPlan user experience or the participant login page. The vad runs in an alpha channel, giving it the appearance of floating over the web page on which it runs, and minimizing the amount of space it requires. Standard vads include short descriptions of SmartPlan and its benefits, with a call-to-action to click on the SmartPlan link in the participant website. Solution Proposal! Page 5 of 9! 7/6/12

Print Promotions In addition to email and vads, SmartPlan Enterprise clients can choose from a library of ready-made print promotions, such as postcards, posters, and payroll stuffers. All print promotions are customized with the provider branding and contact information, and are available in high resolution format, suitable for offset printing. Original source files can also be provided, to allow your marketing team to modify the documents as desired. Results The SmartPlan solution generates measurable results for providers, sponsors, and advisors including cost savings, greater participation, increased assets under management, and ancillary business such as rollovers. Highlights Statistics generated by SmartPlan Enterprise since its introduction reflect the powerful effect it has on employee engagement in their retirement plans. Higher Deferrals: New participants enrolling through SmartPlan choose an average deferral rate of 9.3% compared to 6.9% national average. Increased Contributions: Existing participants that visit SmartPlan are increasing their contributions by 2.3 percentage points, on average. Structured Investments: Over 80% of participants in SmartPlan are choosing the plan s model funds and target-date funds. SmartPlan: A Proven Success Harrah s Entertainment and their plan provider Citistreet deployed an early version of SmartPlan in 2008 and, with minimal promotion of the system, generated plan enrollment rates comparable to live, on-site meetings for a fraction of the cost. Analytics revealed that most employees accessed the SmartPlan site from home. Since its nationwide launch in the fall of 2008, SmartPlan has generated thousands of participant sessions, yielding useful data: in addition to impressive participation rates, SmartPlan has been shown to drive average plan contribution (deferral) rates among new enrollees of 9.3%. Fees Implementation Fees Clients are responsible for an implementation a fee of $5,000 for customized interface and promotional materials. Subscription Fees Subscription fees are charged according to the number of Sponsor Plans a provider deploys, as tracked through the Administration Portal, at a rate as low as $5 per sponsor Plan, per month. Minimum monthly fee: $1,500.
