ECB Community Education provide an extensive range of high quality courses, expert coach educators and world leading content to support coaches to be the best they can be for the players they are coaching. So, whether you re a parent looking to share great moments with your children, a former player looking to give something back to the game or a current cricketer keen to help your club develop, we have coaching courses that will suit your needs. Becoming a coach be the best that you can be for the players that you coach The ECB coaching pathway recognises that players are different and have different needs, and specifically recognises a difference between coaching children and coaching young people and adults. ing is a challenging but enormously rewarding role in cricket and players need expertise, support and passion from coaches at every level of their development. By training as a coach you will be exposed to experiences, tasks, practices and sharing of ideas on courses which are designed to help equip you with the tools you need to meet your players needs. ECB in ing s 1st4sport Level 2 in ing s (QCF) This course is designed to help develop your confidence and equip you with the knowledge, understanding and applied skills to lead coaching sessions for children and create safe, fun, player-centred coaching environments. 8 x three-hour modules, e-learning and six sessions of supported practice usually in your own club coaching environment. For coaches who are going to predominantly coach children from 6 to 13 years. This course provides the core capabilities required for coaching but focuses on enabling the coach to provide expertise, support and passion for children s cricket. ECB in ing 1st4sport Level 2 in ing Young People and Adults (QCF) This course is designed to help develop your confidence and equip you with the knowledge, understanding and applied skills to lead coaching sessions for young people & adults and create safe, engaging, player-centred coaching environments. 8 x three-hour modules, e-learning and six sessions of supported practice usually in your own club coaching environment. For coaches who are going to predominantly coach young people and adults (13 years+). This course provides the core capabilities required for coaching but focuses on enabling the coach to provide expertise, support and passion for young people and adults cricket. ECB Game Based Learning for Game-based practices promote the development of all skills required to play cricket. This workshop will explore how coaches can design enjoyable, stimulating and appropriate scenarios that replicate the actual game. es will enhance their understanding of game-based learning and its positive influence on player development. ECB Creating the Learning Climate for The coach is key to creating a positive experience for children within a club. This workshop considers the coach s role in creating an environment that allows players to learn by solving problems and self-discovery. es will develop their understanding of how they support a child s learning and development. ECB Skill Development for Players require skills that are flexible and adaptable to perform and enjoy the game. Understanding how to design appropriate practices is essential for skill development. This workshop will allow coaches to create and share enjoyable group-based skill development practices for children within a club environment. This workshop will explore and apply performance and video analysis in practice and competitive situations. es will understand how skill development can be supported and enhanced by performance and video analysis. ECB Training Interventions and Methods Adaptable and flexible skills allow players to meet the changing demands of the game. Designing appropriate practices that meet players needs is essential for enhancing game-specific skills. This workshop will allow coaches to create and share inspiring groupbased training interventions and methods for young people and adults within a club environment. ECB ing Teams A coach of young people and adults cricket is often responsible for team preparation, practice and strategy throughout the season. This workshop explores in-season practices and the coach s role before, during and after a game. es will also consider their relationship with the captain. Disability Inclusion Training A five hour CPD workshop that will build a coach s confidence and ability to provide a more inclusive cricket sessions for all. For coaches working within school, club or community environments that hold the ECB in ing s, ECB in ing Young People and Adult s or equivalent. During the workshop, you can expect to cover the following topics: Focus on ability rather than disability. Influence and deliver good practice to suit all involved. Communicate appropriately and effectively. Support the inclusion of disabled people in sport and physical activity. Identify how to challenge real and perceived barriers. Supporting the coach to deliver cricket There are other support roles in cricket which are crucial to making the game safe and enjoyable as well as developing players, teams and clubs to reach their potential. These courses are designed to appeal to a wide variety of people who may have differing circumstances, but share a desire to get involved and help make cricket happen. It s beyond words. Tim Richardson, Clifton Alliance CC They are ideal for someone who hasn t got any experience playing cricket or doesn t feel able to commit to being a coach.

The course is ideal for someone who wants to help and support a qualified coach in the delivery and organisation of games and sessions but may not have the time, inclination or sport specific knowledge to qualify as a coach. This vital role supports the coach in action and development of players predominantly in the club environment. The course focuses on practical learning allowing you to understand how to make sessions safe; lead warm-ups and cool downs; and run different types of practice. 1 x six-hour workshop. You must be 16 years of age and complete a recognised safeguarding module and be DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service, formerly CRB) checked. The playing of cricket will not happen without a lot of things, which are often hidden to people, being done. If you want to make cricket happen, in whatever capacity, this course is right for you, especially if you are a young person exploring various options of how you can support cricket and develop yourself personally. The course will help you identify and understand the roles that make cricket happen and the development of ideas to promote cricket in your community. An ideal course for anyone wishing to volunteer in any way in organising cricket and signposts you to other opportunities to progress as part of the cricket community. After the workshop, you will then have the opportunity to get involved by making cricket happen in your environment. 1 x four-hour workshop with off course activities to complete also. in schools ECB Community Education has devised courses specifically tailored for teachers, teaching assistants and coaches to help develop cricket within the school environment, both primary and secondary.

for Teachers: Primary Teachers are a key part of the ECB s coaching family that works together to inspire children and young people and ignite lifelong passion for cricket. Specific three-hour workshops with access to online resources have been designed build teachers confidence in teaching cricket in physical education and school sport. Developed in partnership with Chance to Shine, teachers will develop their knowledge, understanding and application of appropriate games and practices within the national curriculum. The workshop will also explore opportunities to promote intraschool competition within physical education and school sport. Secondary Education ing for Teachers: Primary Primary Education

es in schools play a critical role in inspiring the next generation of cricketers. Specific three-hour workshops with an online assessment have been designed to support coach s initial entry into primary and secondary education environments. Developed in partnership with Chance to Shine, ECB qualified coaches will explore the value of a high quality cricket provision in schools that supports physical education and school sport. The workshop also focuses on the coach s role in support teaching staff, understanding the national curriculum, developing intra-school competition and promoting the cricket network.
