To learn more, visit: www.icbc.com THE OPPORTUNITY MANAGER, HR CONSULTING The Manager, HR Consulting is responsible for working with and leading a team of HR Consultants that provides HR Business Partner services to support ICBC s internal client groups in achieving their strategic and tactical objectives. Service areas related to management consulting and support in the areas of recruitment & selection, performance management, workforce planning, attendance management and other corporate people programs. The role s mandate focuses on a cultural shift away from a labour relations HR model, toward a progressive, partner of the business. Specifically, the Manager, HR Consulting will be responsible for: HR Consulting Develop trusting and collaborative relationships with leadership teams in assigned client groups and become an integral member of those teams as a trusted advisor; Gain deep knowledge and insights into the operation of the client groups, including strategies, talent levels, opportunities and challenges; Translate business knowledge into insights and opportunities to offer proactive people solutions; Coach leaders to effectively support and manage their team members; Participate as a HR representative in divisional meetings; Provide guidance to managers on career development in conjunction with their managers; Respond to inquiries from candidates, staff, managers, directors, and external suppliers; and Understand and interpret HR policies and provide advice on highly complex matters. Managerership Direct, coach, and support team members to achieve their highest level of performance; Create meaningful development plans that will stretch team members to fulfill their potential; Support the HR Leader in monitoring the HR budget. HR Program Delivery / Client Capacity Building Facilitate the annual talent assessment and development planning process in collaboration with divisional leaders; Support leaders to identify development needs and appropriate solutions (development plans, career broadening, coaching, mentoring etc.); Advise leaders on the management of underperformance and employee misconduct, presenting best advice on options and risks as informed by the Canada Labour Code; seek advice through external legal counsel as required; Identify leadership development needs and source and/or facilitate management development training in line with identified needs; Monitor people HR program completion/effectiveness; and Interpret data and reports to identify trends, issues, and generate action plans. THE PERSON Required Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience: 5+ years progressively more senior HR experience; Business degree preferred, including HR-specific education; A sound understanding of the underlying principles and concepts associated professional HR; Strong intellectual horsepower; able to think on their feet; Superb verbal and written communication skills; Excellent relationship builder; collaborative, yet able to hold influence; Well-developed management skills; superior leadership and coaching skills; Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills; and Resilience and tenacity.
