There are approximately 320 children aged 2 13, the huge majority of whom go on to some of the country s leading independent senior schools. Opportunities The Edgeborough scale for remuneration of its teachers is above the national scale. Pupils of teachers at the school are entitled to a substantial reduction in fees as long as all other usual entry requirements are fulfilled. SEN at Edgeborough There are three part time teachers who work in the SEN department which is known at Edgeborough as the LEAP Zone LEarning Acceleration Programme. A full-time SEN director is required to provide the necessary time to deliver a rounded programme of diagnosis communication, support and action for the whole school of pupils aged between 4 (Reception Year) and 13 (Year 8).

Leading the Special Needs Department Co-ordinating a programme of support across the school Communicating with parents Communicating with staff General Duties: Developing programmes of learning activities Planning, preparing and researching lessons Preparing and adapting teaching materials Making use of special facilities and/or equipment Contact/teaching time with students on an individual, class or small group basis Checking and assessing students' work and giving feedback Encouraging personal development via tutorial/pastoral work Attending meetings and reviews Ensuring that colleagues receive all relevant information about SEN pupils Directing and supporting colleagues in their teaching where necessary Liaison with parents, professionals and external agencies Writing reports
