The Application Procedure The closing date for applications is: Tuesday 29 th January, 2013 s will take place in the week commencing: Monday 4 th February, 2013. On the day of the interview candidates will be given the opportunity to: Lead a 40 minute lesson. Discuss the post with the Headmaster and the Deputy Head Academic (Mr Ken Annis). Why Teach at Edgeborough? Edgeborough is one of Surrey s top preparatory schools. There are approximately 320 children aged 2 13, the huge majority of whom go on to some of the country s leading independent senior schools. These include Wellington, Charterhouse, Canford, Cranleigh, Bradfield College, RGS Guildford, Winchester, St Swithun s, St Catherine s Bramley, Guildford High School, Lord Wandsworth College, Radley, Marlborough and Eton. Most of the pupils make excellent use of the school s weekly and flexi boarding facilities. The school is extremely well resourced both in terms of buildings and equipment. Facilities include sports hall, theatre, music, art, CDT and dance studios, state of the art science and ICT facilities, swimming pool, golf course and large astro-turfed area. The school is set in over 50 acres of wonderful, rolling Surrey countryside in Frensham. Pupils are very well behaved, courteous and supportive of the school s strong Christian ethos. Any new member of staff will be joining an exceptionally strong and well organised team of teachers and assistants. Opportunities The Edgeborough scale for remuneration of its teachers is above the national scale. Pupils of teachers at the school are entitled to a substantial reduction in fees as long as all other usual entry requirements are fulfilled. The school enjoys outstanding facilities and is very well resourced Small classes of well-behaved children with supportive parents. All staff have the opportunity (and indeed are strongly encouraged) to continue with their professional development at the school. Opportunities to take part in sporting and extracurricular trips. We run the probationary year for NQTs via ISCTIP. Lunch is provided free of charge when duties are performed, as is tea and coffee. SEN at Edgeborough There are three part time teachers who work in the SEN department which is known at Edgeborough as the LEAP Zone LEarning Acceleration Programme. A full-time SEN director is required to provide the necessary time to deliver a rounded programme of diagnosis communication, support and action for the whole school of pupils aged between 4 (Reception Year) and 13 (Year 8).

All staff attend INSET Training days and a small number of special school events e.g. parents evenings/open days etc. Occasional Supper duties. 18.00 18.30. Additional Information Remuneration On Edgeborough Scale (See above). The appointee will be placed on the scale according to experience and qualifications. Edgeborough takes full part in the Teachers Pension Scheme. Main Responsibilities: Carrying out any other duties which may be reasonably required by the Headmaster. Leading the Special Needs Department Co-ordinating a programme of support across the school Communicating with parents Communicating with staff General Duties: Developing programmes of learning activities Planning, preparing and researching lessons Preparing and adapting teaching materials Making use of special facilities and/or equipment Contact/teaching time with students on an individual, class or small group basis Checking and assessing students' work and giving feedback Encouraging personal development via tutorial/pastoral work Attending meetings and reviews Ensuring that colleagues receive all relevant information about SEN pupils Directing and supporting colleagues in their teaching where necessary Liaison with parents, professionals and external agencies Writing reports
