CRITICAL POWER MONITORING CPM20/CPM21 DETAILS The Starline Critical Power Monitor (CPM) is a distributed data acquisition system that enables Current and Power monitoring in busway systems. Each phase and neutral may be monitored independently. The CPM may be incorporated at a power feed point or directly into a plug-in unit. CURRENT TRANSFORMERS Current transformers (CT s) are supplied and calibrated with the unit for installation onto the customer-supplied feeder cables. Sense leads from the CT s connect to the Meter. METER MODULES Each unit is calibrated for accuracy within 1% to meet ANSI Revenue Grade Standards. CPM20 - BASIC PACKAGE Provides current measurements and alarms of up to 3 circuits. Includes Ethernet and Modbus ports; supports wireless option. CPM21 ENHANCED PACKAGE Provides current and voltage inputs, monitoring Current, Voltage, Power, Power Factor, Frequency, Apparent Power, Energy kwh, Reactive Power, Temperature, Neutral current, Power Min. and Max. DISPLAY (OPTIONAL) The bright LCD touch screen displays all basic power measurements and alarms. Touch screen provides limited configuration and control. Large format display is easily readable at a distance. COMMUNICATION Ethernet and Modbus RTU ports are standard. Ethernet port provides an Embedded Web (html) Interface & supports SNMP. Wireless mesh network interface is optional, providing true versatility in the busway environment. The Power monitor can be used to manage and maximize power distribution within a three phase power system. It can be employed as a component to help balance three phase power distribution between each phase. This assures accuracy within power usage calculations; increase efficiency by reducing wasted power on incoming power and/or neutral lines, and enables a user to fully utilize the power supplied to them. POWER FEED MONITORING CPM incorporated in or near the power feed unit provides load monitoring of the entire run of busway. Used in conjunction with BMS systems to ensure busway is not overloaded as well as for general power management. Typically uses the CPM21 Enhanced package with display. BRANCH CIRCUIT MONITORING CPM incorporated into each plug-in unit monitors individual branch circuits. Used in conjunction with BMS system for general power management and revenue purposes at the rack or circuit level. Typically uses the CPM20 basic unit for most efficient cost and packaging. Monitors up to 3 circuits. BUILDING MANAGEMENT INTERFACE Starline CPM is easily interfaced with BMS systems. Many BMS systems offer drivers for use with the Starline CPM. Contact your BMS supplier or Starline Engineering for more information. POWER FEED UNIT with CPM Monitor End Feed with Installed Standard End Power Feed units connect to the male end of the Busway. Factory assembled unit consists of a 12 X 16 X 5 in. steel junction box, with removable sides, connected to a 1 foot section of Busway. The assembly includes connection lugs, ground lug and shrink tubing for wires up to 300 MCM. End Feed units for connection to female Busway ends are also available. Integral CPMs (M20/M21) installed in the End Feed provide power monitoring and alarms. Nuisance tripping may be avoided using the current information to protect against overloading phases. The monitors also assist in balance the three phase loads. A buzzer is provided that activates at 80% of full load. This level may be changed in the field using the embedded webpage. R versions provide remote communication functions, W provides wireless, DW include both local display and wireless and DR both local display and remote Special need power feed units for confined spaces that may be found in Mission Critical Data Centers can also be designed and fabricated, requiring minimum quantities.
