The content is structured into theoretical and practical modules, and includes the undertaking of a research project and design of new graphics products, which will help to consolidate all the knowledge acquired during the course. Objectives To strengthen students individual abilities, this programme focuses its objectives on: The development of research methods for the design of projects and products. Learning new creative methods and work systems to implement them in the design process. Complete the training and the professional profile of students so they can tackle new innovative projects in the field of design and graphic editing. Knowledge of planning, control and management systems for the design and implementation of graphics projects.

Structure Classroom activities leading to the acquisition of skills: 1. The graphics project (From research to project planning). Research for the design. Organisation of the graphics project. Design process systems, methods and techniques. Idea generation and creativity process. 2. Work methodology in the design process (From the idea to planning of the work processes). Innovation in the design process. Advanced techniques in design and typographic composition. Image processing and handling. Systems for the configuration of final and original digital arts for production. 3. Desktop publishing in the various product types (Desktop publishing applied to the production of multiple products). Analysis of publishing systems: analogue (conventional) and digital (electronic). The manufacture of the materials and mediums: paper, plastic, complex, metal, other. Structural analysis of the various product types for: graphic identity, communication, advertising, signage, infographics, publishing sector, and the industrial container and packaging sectors. Definition of the graphics production processes. Classroom activities leading to evaluation: 4. Project development, tutorials and monitoring (Project with academic guidelines). The academic contents and the activities performed during the course will teach students to plan production processes, and consolidate decision-making based on exhaustive knowledge of (analogue and digital) graphics technologies. These projects specifications and requirements will depend on the collaborating company in question.

Objectives To strengthen students individual abilities, this programme focuses its objectives on: Discovering the various (analogue and digital) graphics technologies. Applying the ISO standard which regulates the design process and graphics production processes. Defining planning and control systems of the production of multi-format (different materials and formats) and multimedia (digital, electronic or analogue media) product. Acquiring people and project management skills via the study of design. Structure Classroom activities leading to the acquisition of skills: 1. Analysis of the graphics sector (The business structure of the graphics sector). Sector analysis: development, present and future. The business structure of the sector and production models. How to develop the leadership and management skills a graphic designer needs. The business framework of a graphics studio. 2. Product design and production (Methods and systems for the design and production of graphics products). Materials and mediums: description and technical characteristics. Selection process in connection with product design and the characteristics of the materials and mediums (aesthetics and functionality). Market, products, services and trends in: o Commercial and advertising products. o Publishing and communication products. o Industrial container and packaging products. 3. Graphic technology and production system management (Configuration of the various production systems in connection with the product type). Comparison between printing systems (conventional and digital) Guidelines for the planning of: o Products manufactured with multiple mediums (a range of materials and o mediums) Products manufactured in multimedia (published for various digital and conventional platforms) Quality management in products and services via international ISO standards. Cost estimates and quotations in design and production. Classroom activities leading to evaluation: 4. Implementation of two course projects, tutorials, and project supervision (Projects with business guidelines). These projects specifications and requirements will depend on each company. 5. Project presentation and evaluation (Presentation to and evaluation by the project managers in each company).
