Van Kronenburg Autosport has been designing, building and tuning high performance engines for a wide variety of applications for more than 20 years. Due to the dissatisfaction with the existing products, Van Kronenburg Autosport set out in the early days of the company to design their own high performance engine management system. The goal of what was to eventually become the Kronenburg Management Systems (KMS) was that it had to be simple, reliable and very effective, yet at an affordable price. Taking this approach, Van Kronenburg Autosport was able to design an engine management system that could cope with 90% of all applications. Today, the Kronenburg Management Systems (KMS) has grown to become a complete line of engine management systems that enable you to manage all (turbo + n/a) petrol engines up to 12 cylinders with options such as 4mb data logging, staged/banked injection, map selector, odd firing, electronic throttle control self-learning lambda control, boost control, variable launch control, idle control, traction control, powershift, RPM limiters, engine diagnostics, shift-light, water injection, cooling fan, fuel pump, etc. To aid the functioning of its management systems, KMS provides an extensive range of accessories including a mini dashboard, lambda controllers, idle control actuators, boost control actuators, temperature sensors, position sensors, pressure sensors, wiring, etc. KMS also provides customers with a complete external range of engine components such as throttle bodies and accessories, turbos and fuel system components. The KMS MD35 ECU is a programmable engine management system that can be used as an independent engine control unit (ECU) for virtually all types of Otto engine, or in combination with a standard engine management system. It can take over the standard injection/ignition at any desired engine speed, boost pressure or throttle valve position. A complete self-learning air-to-fuel ratio control (lambda control) is one of the key features of the KMS MD35 ECU. The lambda control is used in combination with the KMS Uego CAN controller set. Precise ignition and air/fuel mixture control will lead to excellent driveability, performance and low fuel consumption. The KMS MP25 ECU is a affordable and efficient engine management system. By using the minimum of sensors, three auxiliary outputs, one auxiliary input and a wide range of functions, the KMS MP25 ECU can cope with 90% of all types of Otto engines. These basic functions make the MP25 a simple, reliable and effective engine management system at a very competitive price. This is an engine management system designed by engine people to be used by engine people. Anyone who understands the mechanics of the Otto cycle should be able to set up and use this system with little difficulty. KMS Ignition ECU IA23 Stand-alone ignition management system The KMS IA23 is a stand-alone management system for controlling the ignition system of any Otto engine up to 8 cylinders. The KMS IA23 is highly suitable for all applications where injection systems cannot be used or are not allowed for some reason. It can also be used in combination with the original management system to take over control of the ignition system, for example to raise the RPM limit or to apply launch control or powershift. KMS Fuel ECU FA23 Stand-alone fuel injection management system The KMS FA23 is a stand-alone management system for controlling the fuel system of any Otto engine up to 8 cylinders. The KMS FA23 is often used on motorcycles because of its compact design and effectiveness. It is also highly suitable for applications where standard Carburetors are replaced with an injection system or in combination with the original management system to take over control of the injection system. KMS ETC Stand-alone Electronic Throttle Control NEW The KMS ETC is a powerful and reliable system for the control of electronic throttle valves in various applications. It enables users to control electronic throttle valves, stand-alone or in cooperation with an Engine Control Unit. The system uses a powerful PID algorithm to ensure that the electronic throttle valve will be reacting, under all circumstances, within a few milliseconds. It allows users to get the full potential from the electronic throttle valve with functions like RPM limiter, Anti Lag (ALS) control, launch control and many more. The KMS ETC has an extensive automatic calibration process which enables a reliable use of the system within a few minutes after installation. KMS DI driver Driver for Direct Injection control NEW The KMS DI driver is a driver which is used in combination with standalone ECU s to control high pressure (direct) injected engines. It can control the fuel pressure and injection angle of non-piezo electric injectors. Injection time is equal to the input injection pulse width of the ECU. The injector current is generated by a switched current regulation divided into a boost, pick-up, holding and recharging period. All together, this leads to a very powerful and reliable driver for controlling high pressure injectors. KMS CAN display Simple and effective mini display The KMS CAN display is a simple, reliable, affordable and effective mini display which can be used for many applications. Its compact and robust design makes it suitable for many applications, from racing car steering wheels to snowmobiles, motorcycles to jetskis. However, its compact design doesn t mean that the display is less capable than other larger displays. Smart software in the display enables users to configure five different layouts, making all parameters available at the press of a button. Seven LED lights above the screen aid the effectiveness and workability of the display. All LED lights have two functions. Each LED can be configured as a warning or indication light for different variables including a pop-up warning in the display. Their second function is to act as a shift light which can also be completely adjusted to suit users requirements. KMS UEGO CAN controller State of the art wide band lambda controller The KMS UEGO CAN controller is a state of the art wide band lambda controller designed to work with the Bosch LSU 4.9 wide band lambda sensor. It measures the oxygen level in the exhaust at a rate of 2000 samples/sec and converts it to lambda value (λ). Connection of the KMS UEGO CAN controller is very straightforward due to the prefabricated wiring loom. The wiring loom contains the connections for the lambda sensor, external ground and analog and CAN communication outputs with which the controller can communicate. This is very important on high performance turbo engines to preserve the engine and turbo. The EGT kit can also be used to measure and monitor oil, water and other temperatures. KMS Injector driver Peak & Hold Injector driver NEW The KMS Peak & Hold Injector driver has two independent injector outputs for driving low impedance injectors. Multiple injectors can be connected to one driver output, depending on the impedance of the injectors. The Peak & Hold driver means that both outputs supply the full battery voltage to a fuel injector in order to open the injector as fast as possible. When the injector has fully opened (Peak), the injector driver reduces the current to a constant level (Hold). This keeps the injector fully open and reduces the power consumption. Installation is very straightforward, the injector outputs from the ECU are connected to the inputs of the driver and the driver outputs directly to the low impedance injectors. KMS EGT 4-channel CAN module The KMS EGT 4-channel CAN module enables users to measure and monitor the temperature using four thermocouple sensors. As the KMS CAN EGT module is not equipped with a display (unlike the KMS EGT kit), monitoring the 4-channel inputs can be done on the KMS CAN display, KMS Motormanagement software or data logging. The 4-channel module can be used, for example, to measure the Exhaust Gas Temperature for each cylinder. This enables users to check whether the engine is running equally on all 4 cylinders. KMS Wiring To aid the functioning of the management systems, KMS provides a complete range of wiring looms and connectors. Custom-made wiring looms can be made to customers specifications. The lengths, connectors, etc, are tailored to customers requirements. KMS Throttle bodies KMS also offers its customers an extensive range of intake systems in order to be able to provide a complete solution to customers at a constant high quality. We can cater to almost all customer demands by means of a wide variety of throttle bodies and accessories. The KMS throttle bodies range consists of two types of throttle bodies. The Twinbody is a direct replacement for the Weber DCOE Carburetor. It is the most costeffective and straightforward solution for upgrading your standard production engine. The Singlebody is the best solution for tuning an engine without compromises. The Singlebody can be configured with a wide range of levers, fuel rails and air horns. Every throttle body has its own idle bypass and control for accurate adjustments. A wide range of accessories such as return springs, fuel rail kits, throttle linkages, mounting brackets, etc. are also available in order to provide a solution for almost any application. Mounting the throttle bodies on engines requires an inlet manifold. KMS can provide customers with a custom-made manifold in line with their requirements. Holset Turbochargers Besides several products for the intake system, KMS also provides parts for the exhaust side of the engine in the form of Holset turbochargers. Holset offers a wide range of turbochargers for those who are looking for maximum power and torque. All Holset turbochargers are equipped with an Inconel turbine wheel which means that they can easily cope with high temperatures while ensuring a long lifetime for the turbo. The 360 axial bearing also aids the turbo lifetime and enables higher boost pressures from the turbo. To lengthen turbo lifetime, Holset does not supply turbochargers with ball bearings. KMS Fittings In addition to the KMS Fuel injectors and KMS Fuel pressure regulators, KMS also has its own range of KMS Fittings for fuel lines, oil lines and air hoses. The KMS Fittings are mainly used for racing purposes where pressures and temperatures are much higher compared to standard cars. To cope with the higher loads and temperatures, standard hoses, lines and couplings are replaced with upgraded stainless steel or aluminium fittings and braided hoses. These fittings have been extensively tested in the roughest conditions to ensure a long lifetime and high quality of the fittings. The aluminium fittings also have the advantage of being considerably lighter than the standard couplings. Due to the red and blue anodized finish, the fittings improve the visual effect and clean finish of the engine bay.
