A wonderful group of seventh graders, who chose to remain anonymous, spent the last month preparing for spreading positivity with a little message to all our Pirates. That's really the PRIDE way. PIRATE DESIGN CONTEST We are currently holding a pirate design contest for our first and well overdue female pirate to go on our apparel. Sample designs can be seen below. Submissions are due Tuesday, May 26 th. The winner will not only receive the PRIDE that comes along with being selected, but their design will be featured on our spirit apparel and they will also receive a piece of apparel with their logo for free! Designs should be submitted to main office! Summer School LMS is excited to be running our third year of summer school this summer! We will meet Monday-Thursday, June 8th-25th, from 8:30-11:30am. We will be using ALEKS for math, Reading Plus for literacy, and have a Science, Art, and Physical Education component as well! The cost to attend is $50 (some scholarships available). ATTENTION PARENTS END OF YEAR REMINDERS! Discipline: Discipline cases from here on out may result in losing the last day, days or week of school including the continuation ceremony. Yearbooks are not released early for students who miss the last day. FINES and FEES: Teachers have begun assessing fines and fees for the year. All fines and fees must be paid prior to May 28 th to receive yearbooks on the last day. - Attention 8 th grade parents: 8 th graders will receive their yearbooks the morning of Friday, May 29 th prior to leaving for APEX center. It is vital your student s fines and fees are paid prior to this to avoid withheld yearbooks. We will have a fine table set up at 8 th grade continuation listing any outstanding fines for your students. You will be able to pay for the fines at the table. LOST and FOUND: After the last day of school all items remaining in the lost and found will be donated. Be sure to check for any lost/missing items. NO SCHOOL LUNCHES on 5/29: The last day of school no hot lunch will be provided by the district in the lunchroom, please make other arrangements for lunch that day. If this is an issue, please contact the front office and we will gladly help arrange something. LAST DAY: The school is closed at 3:30 pm on the last day and all doors will be shortly locked. The side door will be open for music students who need to retrieve their instruments. First day for 6 th graders for the 2015-2016 school year is Thursday, August 20 th. First day for 7 th /8 th graders for the 2015-2016 school year is Friday, August 21 st. Crooked Creek 8 th Grade Rite of Passage trip will be September 9-10 th for the 2015/16 school year. Keep any eye on Revtrak for the sign up.

8 th Grade Final Day Schedule Friday May 29th, 2015 Apex Center, Arvada Total Cost: $12 (Covers the Apex center, Transportation and Pizza lunch) Permission sheets and fees are on RevTrak 8:40 am Report to the MPR for welcome and agenda for the day. The assigned teacher will hand out yearbooks before they board bus. Each teacher will take roll and report to office. Turn in remaining yearbooks to the office. Each student receives the yearbook with their name on it. No picking up for friends. 9:00 am Board Buses for Apex Center 9:30 am Arrival / Orientation 9:45 am - 10:30 am Annual Basketball Game Gym, Outside Field Activities, Hang Out 10:30 am - Noon Rec Center Activities: Open Gym, Swimming, Outdoor Field Activities, Hang Out 11:00am Students check in with teacher. 12:00 pm Lunch 1:00 Students check in with teacher. 1:30 pm Depart for LMS 2:00 pm Arrive at LMS 2:15-3:00 pm Outside Hang Out: Pirates Park and Sunken Garden 3:00-3:30 pm Football Field: Countdown to high school joined by 6th & 7th graders LMS RAIN Plans: Announcement will be made by 3pm on location change due to rain RAIN LOCATION: MP Room and Student Commons ONLY

6/7 th Grade Final Day Schedule Comfy day dress (no slippers, but dress comfy) 6th and 7th Grade Students need to carry a backpack on May 29th - NO LOCKER USE that day - NO AUDITORIUM USE 8:40-9:30 am 1st Period Attendance/Carry all belongings in backpack! Classroom Activities 9:35-10:25 am 2nd Period Yearbook Distribution 7th (Students called by grade and alphabet to the office) Classroom Activities 10:30-11:00 am 3rd Period Yearbook Distribution 6th (continues if necessary), Classroom Activities 11:00-11:30 am 6th Grade Lunch in MP room 11:00-11:30 pm 7th Grade Lunch in Main Gym 11:35-12:45 pm 4th period Teacher Choice 12:50-1:40 pm 5th Period Teacher Choice 1:45-2:35 pm 6th Period Teacher Choice 2:40-3:00 pm 7th Period Teacher Choice Remind students to take backpacks, yearbooks, musical instruments, etc. out to the field, no one is allowed back in the building after 3:30pm with a few exceptions. 3:00-3:30 pm : All Students and Teachers to the Football Field for Yearbook Signing RAIN Plans: Announcement will be made for 3:00 pm location change due to rain
