THE CHALLENGE A leading hospitality group has world s premium chain of hotels and properties across the world. The current central reservation center is flooded with calls and operational challenges when it comes to managing it s most discerning customers. The existing third party web reservation channels charge expensive commissions and provide with least flexibility to manage bookings, rates & inventory. The central reservation and the E-commerce department of the group realized a need to have it s own custom built web based Booking Engine solution. The solution sought for was the world s best breed of Booking Engine. The customer needed a Booking Engine solution which was expected to have all the functionalities of a reservation system along with the technology to simplify operations, integrate with it s existing Property Management (Opera PMS) System to manage rates, inventory along with restrictions and policies, custom build the missing functionalities, manage content, branding and map important functionalities to cover up for downtime & handle exception scenario s. The system was also expected to manage properties not using the existing PMS.
