3 The Idea behind the app It was the success of Uber across the globe and the unorganized beauty and wellness industry that together fueled the demand for a marketplace that could aggregate the service providers in one place. Beauty and wellness industry in India is expected to rise to $13 billion by 2017 and within the Greater Middle East it was already around $25 billion in It was high time that this vertical of market be explored. Founded in Dubai in June 2014 by London Business School alumni Abhinav Khare and Poonam Marwah, Vyomo aims to bring more than a million stylists on its platform. A PricewaterhouseCoopers report estimates the country s B&W sector to be worth Rs 1 lakh crore in For this reason there also has been a lot of investor action.

4 The Problem? With about percent growth per year in the B&W industry it is quite obvious to see businesses mushrooming up and people getting into this sector. The sector currently employs close to 30 lakh people and more are expected to join. Rising affluence of middle class segment has upgraded their consumption lifestyle and increased their willingness to buy beauty products and services. The industry is hence expanding to Tier II and Tier III cities and businesses have also started to explore new venues for rejuvenation like hotels and airports. With so much action happening, there is a huge potential in a way consumers could benefit from the services.

5 The Problem - Cont. However, there is the negative side of this industry as well. Just like any other industry, B&W faced certain challenges too. The sector was wholly unorganized in the way services were accessible to consumers. Small market players were living in the shadow of big international brands. Despite fierce competition in the sector there was no set benchmark for quality. On the business side there was no efficient tool to manage the bookings, appointments, and payments. Abhinav and Poonam approached Juggernaut with the above issues. They wanted to create a platform that could help customers avail quality services with a lot of options to choose from. Likewise, they wanted to offer a cloud based in-store management software that could help businesses keep a check on bookings, schedules, and calendars etc. Through the app Vyomo they wanted to enlist thousands of providers in the industry and wanted to empower smaller businesses to exhibit their talent. After weeks of market research, meetings, discussions, and understanding the nature of this proposition, the Juggernaut team decided to get on with it.

6 Juggernaut s Solution Strategy Since Vyomo was targeting both sides of the network consumer and business it made sense to have two separate apps to cater to separate demands. After several weeks of brainstorming, Juggernaut s solution shaped into fully functional mobile apps.

13 Design Throughout the development phase there were several iterations in the design on the basis of feedback. Both the apps and admin panels were designed keeping a seamless user experience in mind. From the colour scheme to transition effects, every bit of it was decided after thoughtful planning and discussions. 14 Development Platform Used Vyomo is available on Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Although, several basic and advanced platforms have been used in the development of the app, a few have been listed below:

15 Milestone The app was recently in news for raising an undisclosed amount of seed funding from YouWeCan Ventures headed by the Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh. In the second round it got funded by TaxiForSure founder Aprameya Radhakrishna. Few investors from Singapore and GCC countries have also pumped in money.
