I am a PhD candidate at King s College London and a research fellow at the University of Venice IUAV, where I am working on a project co-financed by Italy s largest power company and the second largest utility listed in Europe by installed capacity and the University of Milan Politecnico. In March 2013, I edited the first Italian book on virtual water and water footprints, with contributions from international organisations, academic institutions and the private sector. WORK EXPERIENCE 2013 - present Research Fellow in Political Economy University of Venice, IUAV Defining cost budgeting (70K Euros); Conducting research on the water-food-energy nexus in the context of global land and water acquisitions by using both quantitative and qualitative skills; Organising a workshop to be held in Venice in January 2014; Writing three research papers to be published in peer-reviews journals; Developing concept notes and research proposals for both national and international funding schemes. 2012 - present Member of the Management Committee representing the UK in the EU-funded COST Action Assessment of EUROpean AGRIculture WATer use and trade under climate change (EURO-AGRIWAT) Representing the UK in project meetings and conferences; Coordinating the collaboration between scientists from the UK and the other 27 members of the COST Action; Organising a conference to be held in London by 2016, aimed at fostering collaboration and to disseminate knowledge between the members of the Action. 2011-2013 Research Fellow Euro-Mediterranean Centre on Climate Change (CMCC) Conducted research on climate change impacts on water resources in the Mediterranean region in the context of the EU-FP7 Collaborative project WASSERMed (Water Availability and Security in Southern Europe and the Mediterranean, www.wassermed.eu); Developed test simulations on economic impacts of climate change impacts on water resources in the agricultural sector and tourism; Computation of virtual water flows implicit in commodity trade using the Input-Output approach; Delivered oral presentations and chairing in international conferences and internal meetings; Published in two peer-reviewed journals;
