How to access UCSD Restricted Library Journals off campus, including from Rady Children's hospital. Most library e-journals & databases are restricted to use on campus, or use off-campus only by current UCSD faculty, staff, and students. To access these resources from off-campus, use one of these options. These instructions will guide you through connecting to the UCSD library using the 2X client or the UCSD VPN. This guide assumes that you have already installed either the 2X Client or the UCSD VPN. If you have not installed either the 2X Client or VPN please reference the instruction sheets on the Pediatrics Information Services website. Accessing Library Journals through the VPN on a Windows or MAC OS 1 Sign on Go to the VPN Sign-On page, and sign on Use allthruucsd when accessing Library resources Click Start AnyConnect. When the screen below appears, you've successfully connected to the UCSD VPN using the Cisco AnyConnect Client. This may take several seconds. Android access VPN 1. Enter your AD username and password. Select the group Easyconnect, Allthruucsd or Split. Enter your Active Directory (AD) username and password. 2. Finish Connection. Using the 2X Client to access library journals with Windows After you have installed the 2X Client, you can now launch the 2X Client to access your desktop Launching the 2X Client To open the 2X Client: Start > [All] Programs > 2X > 2X Client > 2X Client Pediatrics Information Services 5
Listing of Published Applications Using Folders After configuring the 2X Client simply click OK. If you entered a valid username and password and the server IP address and port are correct, you should see the list of published applications available to your username/computer/ip address in the main window. 2X Client main window with published applications. If you want to create shortcuts for your published applications on your local desktop computer, simply right click an application and select Create shortcut. A shortcut for that application will be placed on your desktop. Double click your preferred Internet browser, go to libraries.ucsd.edu and search library journals as if you were on campus. USING 2X CLIENT with iphone ios 2X Client Connection Select the 2X Client connection that you have set up on your ios device.
