2 Welcome Thin Web Server Who Should Use this User s Guide This user s guide for the Power Monitoring & Control System Internetaccess software should be used to assist individuals who will: enter information about your Automatic Transfer Switches (s) up to 64 (4000 Series, 7000 Series, Series 300, & 940,962,436,434,447,448) use the software to monitor and control your s (up to 64) use the software to monitor and control your generators (up to 4) if Power Managers (PMs) or Data Monitors are provided for the generators) Prerequisites A working knowledge of Windows 2000 or XP is necessary to use this software. Use of a mouse is assumed and that you are right handed. If you are left handed see personalizing Windows (switch mouse buttons) in Windows Help Index and switch the left and right mouse buttons. Click means to press and release the left mouse button once when the cursor is on the appropriate location on the screen. Double click means to quickly press and release left mouse twice when the cursor is on the appropriate location on the screen. Right Click means to press and release the right mouse once when the cursor is on the appropriate location on the screen. Enter means to press the Enter key on the PC keyboard. Important information that you will need To properly set up the software, you will need the nameplate data and other information from all your Automatic Transfer Switches (up to 64) including: Name (your designation for the ) Address (set in each Controller, Comm. Interface Module, Acc. 72A) Voltage Rating, Ampere Rating, and number of Poles for each Catalog No. and Serial No. of each Type of ( or /BPS [ with bypass-isolation switch]) Power Manager Address (set in each Power Manager or Data Monitor) Manuals that Catalog 214A700 & 214A701 Data Monitor Operator s Manual you may need Catalog 5200 & 5200T Power Manager Operator s Manual Catalog 5220 & 5220T Power Manager Xp Operator s Manual & 7000 Series Group 5 Controller User s Guide Series Communication Interface Module Instructions Series 300 Communication Interface Module Instructions ASCO 940, 962, 436, 434,447, 448 Acc. 72A Instructions Tip Communication Address forms are included at the back to help you fill in needed information on your s and Power Managers / Data Monitors. 3 Thin Web Server System Requirements Minimum Requirements The Power Monitoring & Control System Internet-access or intranet-access requires the following minimum PC configuration: Warnings Compatible operating systems: Microsoft Windows 2000 Microsoft Windows XP Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or later browser Personal computer with Pentium MHz processor or higher 512 megabytes (MB) of RAM 60 MB of free hard disk space in drive path C (100 MB recommended) VGA or Super VGA color monitor (1024 by 768 pixels, 256 colors min.) 24X or higher CD-ROM drive 104 key Windows keyboard Microsoft -compatible mouse COM1 (configuration) Ethernet card (for intranet use) PC must be set up for TCP/IP Networking The Power Monitoring & Control System Internet access or intranet access via the locally-installed Thin Web Server allows a user (after entering a user name and password) to control load transfer, retransfer, and generator operation. These precautions must be followed by all users: WARNING Be sure that Users to whom you give control access are knowledgeable enough to have control of load transfer and of the generator. WARNING Verify that conditions are safe for load transfer before you transfer or retransfer an Automatic Transfer Switch (). Thin Web Server WARNING Fill in the Communication Address Forms in the back of this manual. Be sure that you enter correct information about each Automatic Transfer Switch and Power Manager and that address recorded on the Communication Address Forms corresponds with the address set in the s Controller and Power Manager. The Thin Web Server must be installed and configured at the site where the automatic transfer switches and generator sets are located. 4 Thin Web Server Logging On & Off 1-1 How to Log On 1. Start your PC and make the connection to your Internet browser. 2. On the address line type in the address as configured during the setup process. Loading in progress Please wait! To protect this site s login process, encrypted communications through Secure Socket Layer (SSL) is integrated in this page. SSL is a means of encrypting files and network streams to protect you, your information, and your transactions. The prompt that appears is a notification that the Thin Web Server is using the default certificate and private key files to facilitate SSL. ASCO Power Technologies strongly advises that your company should acquire its own personal certificate and private key from certifying authorities, such as Thawte & Verisign, if access to the Thin Web Server will be made open to the World Wide Web. For installation refer to chapter 6 in Installation Manual To continue the process, click the Yes button. 3. Enter your User name, press the Tab key, and enter your Password. Click OK. The home page displays. If you try to perform some operation and you get a warning, it means that you do not have the correct access for this operation. Help shows PDF files of the User s Guide and Installation Manual. About shows the software version, who the software is licensed to, and other important information. 4. Click Network Communication. If you try to perform some operation and you get this warning, it means that you cannot proceed. Only a user with access permission can do this operation. continued on next page

5 Logging On & Off 1-2 Thin Web Server 5. The Network Summary Information screen appears. See Section 2. How to Log Off 1. Click HOME on the top menu bar. HOME 2. Click Log-Off on the opening screen. Log-Off 3. You can log on again (with a different User Name and Password). See page To exit, click Home on your Internet browser. or HOME

6 Thin Web Server Logging On & Off 1-3 How to Check or Change System Configuration 1. Start your PC and make the connection to your Internet browser. 2. On the address line type in the address as configured during the setup process. 3. Enter your User name, press the Tab key, and enter your Password. Click OK. Access is limited to users with the master security level. 4. Click System Configuration on top button bar and check two screens. 5. Click Next button at the bottom to go to the next screen. For more information see Installation Manual (Setup Program section). Check and correct the date, time, and DST settings (if necessary) EXIT if you do not make changes and when finished SAVING changes. SAVE if you make any changes SAVE if you make any changes

7 Thin Web Server Network Summary Information 2-1 Network Summary Information Screen From most screens you can click SUMMARY on the top menu bar to display automatic transfer switches (s) and generators. This screen (refreshed every 15 seconds) shows the name and type of each and generator, top menu bar average voltage and current, total kw, frequency, power factor, load status, alarm, location, and port and address. HOME to log off when finished You can click any switch or engine in this pane to jump to that device in the network. Refer to the forms in the back that you filled out. Box appears on each switch or engine indicating CP & PM, CP only, or PM only. CP means Controller PM means Power Manager Type convention: OTTS means Open-Transition CTTS means Closed-Transition DTTS means Delayed-Transition Engine means engine-generator set Vavg is average voltage (volts) Iavg is average current (amps) KW is power (kilowatts) Freq. is frequency (Hz) pf is power factor Port convention: Tells if device is connected to COM3/COM4 or via a Connectivity Module NOTE: Table flashes when updating. Addr. Pertains to address set on the device. Status Tells if the load status change is due to manual or comm controlled. Alarm convention: None means not active, Yes means active Load Status messages: Load on Normal or Emergency, Engine On, Engine Off, or Engine Running. Instead, click a title (on the menu bar at the top) where you want to go on the SiteWeb screen.

8 Thin Web Server Controller & 7000 Series Transfer Switch Status Information Screen CONTROLLER From most screens you can click CONTROLLER on the top menu bar to display information about a selected 4000 / 7000 Series (Group 5 Controller). Description editor and control functions are not available for access level 1. here for the Description Editor If you have control access, you can enter a Name (8 char. max.), Location (15 char. max.), select Nominal Voltage, and SAVE. see below. for pickup and dropout settings; see page 3-2 for time delay settings see page 3-3 for event log; see page 3-4 for test schedules see page 3-5 Note: For Series 300 s see pages 3-6 through 3-8. Transfer, Bypass, ReTransfer If you have control access, you can transfer, bypass a time delay, or retransfer an automatic transfer switch. Be sure that conditions are SAFE to do so

11 3-4 Controller Thin Web Server 4000 & 7000 Series Event Log Screen On the Status screen for a 4000 / 7000 Series you can click the Event Logs tab (bottom right center) to see the Event Logs screen (Group 5 Controller) for the selected. Next button to display the most recent event 0 means no events are logged Refer to Group 5 Controller User s Guide for event types and reasons for logged events. Use these buttons to display the records, one at a time. Previous button to display previous events

12 Thin Web Server Controller & 7000 Series Test Schedules Screen On the Status screen for a 4000 / 7000 Series you can click the Engine Exerciser tab (bottom right) to see the Engine Exerciser screen (Group 5 Controller) for the selected. Next button to display next test schedule. Use these buttons to display the test schedules, one at a time. Previous button to display previous test schedule (up to 7).

19 Thin Web Server Power Manager 4-1 Power Manager Information Screen From most screens you can click POWER MANAGER on the top menu bar POWER MANAGER to display voltage, current, power, and energy reading for a selected Power Manager. for input and output information

20 4-2 Power Manager Thin Web Server Input & Output Settings Screen On the Power Manager Power & Energy Readings screen you can click the INPUT / OUTPUT button (at the bottom) to see the Power Manager Input & Output Settings for the selected Power Manager. If you have control access, you can change descriptions for the inputs and outputs. Click SAVE after making any changes.

21 Thin Web Server GenSet 5-1 Engine Power & Energy Readings Screen From most screens you can click GENSET on the top menu bar to display voltage, current, power, and energy reading for a selected engine-generator set. GENSET for input and output information

22 5-2 GenSet Thin Web Server Input & Ouput Settings Screen On the Engine Power & Energy Readings screen you can click the INPUT / OUTPUT button (at the bottom) to see the Engine Input & Output Settings for the selected engine. If you have control access, you can change descriptions for the inputs and outputs. Click SAVE after making any changes.

23 Thin Web Server GenSet 5-3 Electronic Modular Control Panel Information Screen On the Engine Power & Energy Readings screen click the EMCP INFO button (at the bottom) to see the EMCP Information for the selected engine. Instead, click a title (on the menu bar at the top)

24 6-1 Alarms Thin Web Server Alarm History Logs Screen From most screens you can click ALARMS on the top menu bar to display the alarm history log for a selected automatic transfer switch () or engine. When an alarm occurs the Summary Information screen (page 2-1) displays a red Yes under the ALARM column of the corresponding or GenSet. You should take appropriate action for the alarm (if necessary) and then reset it by clicking ACKNOWLEDGE. ALARMS Previous & Next buttons to scroll through the alarms Before ing Acknowledge button you should take appropriate action (if necessary).

25 Thin Web Server Device List 7-1 Device List Information Screen From most screens you can click DEVICE LIST on the top menu bar to display device list information. This table shows what device type corresponds to each address. The legend at the bottom describes each device. Each row represents a network. DEVICE LIST This table shows: - the IP address of the Connectivity Modules - the address & type of the device that they are hosting, - the TCP port each used to communicate with the TWS. View Diagnostic Click the View Diagnostic button (lower left) to display the Device Communication Test screen. On this screen click the Start Polling button (lower left) to enable the polling test; click the Stop Polling button to disable the polling test.
