Results of the Kansas Adolescent Health Needs Assessment Session Description: As part of KDHE s development of the state plan for Title V funding for maternal and child health, Kansas State University Research and Extension conducted an assessment of adolescent health in Kansas. The results have been surprising, and have led to new partnerships and new projects (e.g., CAPE2). Through a review of statelevel population data, online surveys that had 854 responses and focus groups reaching 349 adolescents, the health needs of adolescents, service gaps, access barriers and program recommendations were revealed. Participants of this session will learn about the health needs and opinions of Kansas adolescents and adults who care about them. This session also provides an opportunity for participants to discuss strategies to support adolescent health and well-being through local-level initiatives and services.

Participants will also learn the signs and symptoms of Adult Abuse, what to do if there is suspicion of abuse/neglect or exploitation, and how to help members reduce their risk of experiencing abuse/neglect or exploitation.
