1 INTRODUCTION The vast field of Malaysian-German cooperation in education and training deserves special attention. German institutions of higher education put much effort into offering options for Malaysian students, and are to certain extents supported by relevant Malaysian authorities. Various programs are already in place or are being developed between universities and higher learning institutions of both countries, with most of them preparing Malaysian students for primarily engineering - studies in Germany. Given the pace of growth in this area, the number of young Malaysians who can consider themselves German degree-, diploma- or certificate holders will continue to rise in Malaysia, bringing German knowledge and expertise to the country. The Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC) strongly supports Malaysian-German cooperation in the field of education and professional trainings. For the past years, it has been developing the Dual Vocational Training Program in collaboration with the public and private sectors of Malaysia, with the aim of introducing to young Malaysian school-leavers a unique block-combination of theoretical and hands-on training. At the Chamber itself, a Training Division the MGCC Training Acade - has been established to source for and provide its member companies with professional training courses. Besides, the Chamber s Marketing Department assists in marketing campaigns as well for Universities. Other significant services offered by MGCC include business partner search, company establishments, legal advice, trade fair promotions, book keeping, CSR and various other fields. The following list provides on a voluntary basis some of the currently existing German-Malaysian cooperation in the field of Education & Exchange known to MGCC.
