5 What s new? fsaatlas 7.6 includes several new enhancements to the application, technology updates, as well as fixes to several issues reported by our clients. This section provides you with an overview of the featured updates included as part of fsaatlas 7.6, and a list of changes made to the User, Advisor, and Technical guides in this release. Refer to the Enhancements, and Defects Resolved tables in the following sections of this release notes for a complete list of defect corrections and enhancements. Updated configuration and technology requirements This section describes the configuration and technology requirements. Server Utility: A new tab RTI Access is added to the Server Utility to collect the required data for the RTI Access application. A Code Signing Certificate is required as a pre-requisite for end user machine installation, and this certificate can be purchased from well known Certificate Authority (e.g. Verisign, Thawte, etc). New Client Requirement: With this release, Microsoft.NET 3.5 SP 1 is required on client machines to utilize the new RTI Access functionality. SEVIS 6.7 Enhancements This section describes the new features and enhancements that are added as a part of SEVIS 6.7 to fsaatlas 7.6 The SSN, Tax ID, License Number and License State fields are no longer available for selection while configuring the PFS settings for Create Student, and Personal Info Update events. Enterprise Manager: A new SEVIS Configuration setting SEVIS - Address Type dropdown field has been added to the Configure Application Settings that allows the user to identify the address to be sent to SEVIS. Refer to the Chapter 7 The Enterprise Manager of fsaatlas User Guide for more information. The Dependent and Primary fields are added to the Add Dependent, Update Dependent and Create Student events on the Configure PFS Settings page. Refer to the Chapter 7 The Enterprise Manager of fsaatlas User Guide for more information. Report Writer: The Dependent field is added to the list of available fields in the Record Nav - Dependents tab in the Report Writer. Refer to the Chapter 5 The Report Writer of fsaatlas User Guide for more information. March 2011 fsaatlas 7.6 5

6 The primary address formatting rules have been expanded to include up to six additional values after the., while editing the address on the Edit Info screen on the Address tab. The Primary and Dependent address are included as a part of Batch Events processing. The newly added Dependent address is added to the SASEV.xsd and SASStudent.xsd file. Refer to the Chapter 10 Student Campus Datalink XML fields, and Chapter 11 Scholar Campus Datalink XML fields of the fsaatlas Technical Guide for more information. The Primary field is added to the Create Student and Personal Info Update events. The value in this field depends on various factors. Refer to Chapter 16 F & M SEVIS Events in the fsaatlas Advisors Guide for more information. Enhancements This section describes the new features and enhancements for fsaatlas 7.6 RTI Access: With this release, a new link called RTI Access has been added to the fsaatlas functionality. A new browser window opens to SEVIS RTI when the user clicks on the RTI Access link. When generating certain events in RTI, the user has the capability of pre-populating information from the fsaatlas database, as well as, saving the event information and documents from RTI back to fsaatlas. Supported events include the Update Personal Information event and the Transfer In event for F/M students. For more information on the RTI Access and its functionality refer to the RTI Access chapter in fsaatlas User Gude. Enterprise Manager: Enhancements include the addition of a new user permission for RTI Access functionality, called Enable RTI Access. The user must have this access permission to open the RTI Access window inside fsaatlas. SEVIS tab: A new column Updated Via is added to the Section 3: History/ Archived Event(s) section to distinguish how the event was created, either from RTI or from Batch. DataLink Active: The DataLink Active field in the Record Navigator header is modified to a check box, where the user can toggle between Yes and No with a single click to avoid multiple steps, and directly change the DataLink Active state for the student or scholar. Profile Status: With this release, when a Registration event is created for the student, the Profile Status is set to SEVIS - Active under the following conditions. When the registration event is triggered via Campus DataLink by sending Current Session End Date and Next Session Start Date. When the Registration event is manually triggered by updating the Current Session End Date and Next Session Start Date fields in Profile tab. 6 fsaatlas 7.6 March 2011

7 When the Registration event is clicked via the SEVIS Wizard or generated from the Multiple Event Generation feature. Edit OPT Event: With this release, when an Edit OPT event is generated, if the EAD start and end dates are populated, the system will use these dates for the event. SEVIS Manager: With this release two new events, the Program Info Update and Update Subject Field Code (EV) events are added to the Multiple Event Generation page in SEVIS Manager. These events allow the institution to trigger the event for a set of population depending on the results of the Report Writer. The following table lists the summary of the enhancements that have been addressed in fsaatlas 7.6: Enhancement # 1-4OB56J 1-5B7J5L 1-C11BHJ 1-C11BHN Description With this release the Expenses select box for student records and the Site of Activity select box for scholar records found in the Profiles tab are now sorted alphabetically. These values can be entered in F/ M Student Expenses Manager and Sites of Activity under Custom Select Box Manager. With this release, when a Registration event is created for the student, the Profile Status is set to SEVIS - Active under the following conditions. When the registration event is triggered via Campus DataLink by sending Current Session End Date and Next Session Start Date. When the Registration event is manually triggered by updating the Current Session End Date and Next Session Start Date fields in Profile tab. When the Registration event is clicked via the SEVIS Wizard or generated from the Multiple Event Generation feature. Previously, when an Edit OPT event was generated in fsaatlas, the Requested Start date and End date was sent to SEVIS as the start and end date of the OPT record, regardless if the EAD start and end dates were updated. However, with this release, when an Edit OPT event is generated, if the EAD start and end dates are populated, the system will use these dates for the event. Previously, the DataLink Active field in the header displayed static value of Y (Yes) or N (No) for the student or scholar. With this release the DataLink Active field is modified to a check box where the user can toggle between Yes and No with a single click to avoid multiple steps, and directly change the DataLink Active state for the student or scholar. 8 Documentation changes The Hardware and Software Requirements document has been added to the release that describes about the Server requirements, Workstation requirements, Network requirements, SGHE Software requirements and Database requirements for fsaatlas 7.6. Refer to the fsaatlas 7.6 Hardware and Software Requirements Guide for more information. 9 Defects resolved The following table lists the summary of the defects resolved in fsaatlas 7.6: Defect # 1-2TFC0E 1-30FZUP Description A spelling error has been corrected on the SEVIS Wizard under the Program events. The label now displays the correct spelling as Academic Information. With this release, when the user clicks Cancel on the bottom of the page when adding or editing a form template in the Manage Form Template window, the user will be redirected to the Form Template screen. 1-39UL85 The references to the availability of the Content Tag Guide in the E- mail broadcast feature have been removed in the fsaatlas Advisor s Guide. 1-3C835J 1-41TFML 1-5OV9DX 1-72ES7D The Form Generation and Data Integrity section in fsaatlas Advisor s Guide is modified as Data entered in fsaatlas forms, would need some modification in some instances as the information can be different from SEVIS relevant information, and the changes do not automatically propagate back to the student or scholar records. Previously, the Notes in the Interactions tab did not display the characters like the Quotes ( ), Lesser than (<), Greater than (>), Ampersand (&), and some spaces properly. With this release the Notes in the Interactions tab displays the text and characters in a paragraph format. Previously, in the fsaatlas Technical Guide, under the Biographical section, the First Name and Last Name fields which were in bold character format are now changed to default character format. The character format has been changed because the file processes without the first name and the last name for a successful CDL drop. A grammatical error has been corrected in fsaatlas Technical Guide in Chapter 2 - Hardware and Software Requirements under the section Improve fsaatlas Performance. The paragraph is now corrected as To experience the best performance, perform one or more of the following tasks on the application server, database server, and/or client system. When the Send upon task completion check box is checked and the Student or Scholar has a valid address, and Task Status is changed from Active to Completed, then an is sent successfully. With this release the Campus DataLink filter is no longer case sensitive. With this release, fsaatlas correctly assigns the Academic Department value for H-1 and F-1 scholars on the Profile Tab. With this release, an issue has been corrected for the existing reports created using custom fields by the Report Writer. Selecting the Set Search Parameters and View Report does not display any error, and any report can be created using the custom fields in the search parameters. The fsaatlas Technical Guide has been corrected to reflect that, for fsaatlas upgrades the database user name required to install the fsaatlas database should be an existing SQL account. The fsaatlas Technical Guide has been updated to reflect the SQL collation requirement. With this release the fsaatlas application requires the SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS to be used as the default database collation setting for the fsaatlas database in Microsoft SQL Server. With this release the View All Data page on Campus Datalink works correctly without crashing, when there is an apostrophe in a code table database value. The fsaatlas Technical Guide is updated to reflect that, the IT policy requires the use of a lower privileged SQL Server login to be used during the upgrade process. You can use a SQL Server login that has been granted with the following permissions: Alter Any Login permission on the server level. Added as the db_owner for the fsaatlas database. With this release, an issue has been corrected wherein the user can send broadcast and ad hoc messages to groups of students, scholars, or employees with more than 10,000 characters in the body without an errors. 10 fsaatlas 7.6 March 2011

A grammatical error has been corrected in the Confidential Statement on fsaatlas login screen. Thawte specific instructions are removed from fsaatlas Technical Guide, as Thawte Personal Certificates and Web of Trust are being discontinued as per service notice. When using HTML in Ad-hoc or blast, the view detail page renders the HTML correctly and displays the body properly when viewed from the Interactions tab as well as the Manage Blast history in Enterprise Manager. Previously, the reports failed to execute when Output Distinct Rows check box was selected along with any date parameter in Sort By drop-down list. With this release, the issue is corrected and now the reports are successfully generated without any errors when the Output Distinct Rows check box is selected along with any date parameter in Sort by drop-down list. Previously, when an was sent using the blast feature, the system would send as many s as the number of students or scholars in the additional address found as a part of the e- mail blast. In this release this defect is corrected, and now fsaatlas sends an to the s associated with the Local , Permanent , or Mailing option for the students and scholars found as a part of the blast, and to the addresses in the Additional Recipient address fields Q28 Previously, the fsaatlas Technical Guide stated that when purchasing the Verisign certificate, the default security selection must be chosen, i.e. Microsoft Enhanced Encryption. This is incorrect, hence, the Technical Guide in this release is updated to reflect that Microsoft Strong Encryption should be selected on the Verisign website QNL The fsaatlas Technical Guide is updated to reflect that, while installing the PFX file on the fsaatlas server, the private key setting must be marked as exportable. The user must re-export the pfx file from the original server that the certificate was purchased on. The Enable Strong Protection check box must be unchecked, and the Include all certificates in the certification path if possible check box must be checked to successfully import the certificate to additional servers using the resultant pfx file. With this release, if a user is not given DataLink operator privileges, the user cannot access Campus Datalink from the top navigation bar in fsaatlas. The user can enter an apostrophe ( ) in the text fields for the Site of Activity. Previously, all the.net page fields were turned OFF for the Auto Complete functionality. With this release, an application setting called Enable Field Auto Complete? is added to allow each institution to determine whether auto complete should be turned ON or OFF. With this release, when the Create Student form is opened through the SEVIS Wizard and the values are set through Campus DataLink, the value in the English Proficiency field does not change. With this release, when the City of Birth, Dependent Scholar Relationship, and Dependent Profile Status values are typed in the text box and submitted to fsaatlas via Datalink from escholar, the data gets successfully migrated to fsaatlas. Previously, certain pages could be accessed without logging into the application. This has been addressed in this release and users will be prevented from accessing unauthorized pages. Previously, certain ASP pages had cross-site scripting vulnerabilities. In this release, anti-cross site scripting measures have been implemented and these vulnerabilities addressed. 1-DH4XBF Microsoft Office Primary Interop Assemblies (PIA) 2003 or 2007 is now required for RTI Access functionality. The Hardware and Software Requirements Guide is updated with this requirement for fsaatlas client machines.
