3 COMPANY PRESENTATION AND ACTIVITIES MARITIME & PORT CONSULTING, S.L is a leading consulting company in maritime development and port logistics (shipping and land transport). Its core activities include the creation and study of new projects for ports, dry ports and also for container, intermodal and multipurpose terminals. Our consultants are able to advice on future developments of the ports in order to improve their productivity by bringing them into line with current industry needs, implementing the latest generation technologies. These technologies enable all the port actors to be informed at any time of the condition and location of their goods (container, bulk ). The adaptation to the latest technologies enhances the handling and management systems of terminals. Thanks to the optimization and flexibility of the loading and unloading processes, ships, trailer trucks and trains are paralyzed as less time as possible which improves the productivity of all transport industry. M.P.C. consultants can provide port authorities, terminals, shipping lines and shipping agencies with financial analysis, market research and financial sustainability. They can also advice for the selection, acquisition, transport, commissionning and maintenance of all types of port machinery (cranes, trucks, reach stackers ). Finally, they can offer operational and information systems solutions for terminals. 9 AUTORIDAD PORTUARIA DE ALMERIA (Almeria, Spain) Study and commissionning of the hub-terminal in the Port of Almeria. - Market study of the Hinterland of Almeria. 4 years CARGO HANDLING CORPORATION Ltd (Mauritius Island) Improvement of productivity after audit and implementation of corrective measures. - Study of CHCL terminal in Port-Louis, audit and implementation of solutions to improve productivity. - New layout, machinery selection and implementation of necessary corrective solutions in order to reach satisfactory productivity levels. - Thanks to the new solutions implemented, operational productivity increased from 11 movements per hour to 20 movements per hour, with peaks of work - depending on the the ships- up to 35 containers per hour. - These levels of productivity are in line with, and sometimes superior than, bigger terminals. All of this, despite the characteristics of this terminal (transhipment in the Indian Ocean). These systems enable anyone to check the condition and location of its goods, with no need to be in touch with the staff. - Study of maintenance system and developments to be implemented through execution of appropriate software.
