2 INFORMATION ON MMH 02 The MMH is an international trade show dedicated exclusively to Metal Mining The sector has seen strong growth in recent years and has become strategic in Europe, Spain and, in particular, Andalusia, a key place for the development and consolidation of this economic activity. This will be the first congress in Spain to focus exclusively on this activity and a showcase event on the global events calendar. The site chosen to stage the event is the city of Seville, which for a few days will be a global showcase for the mining sector. The event will be held at the Seville Exhibition and Conference Centre (FIBES), Spain, from 3 to 5 November 2015, and will revolve around the key concept of innovation, applied in all phases of mining, from the research and exploitation of deposits to the processing of mineral resources. Innovation is therefore the theme of the two main attractions of MMH: its extensive congress program, which will be structured into three technical-scientific conference days, with six sessions per day, and its commercial and exhibition areas, which will be divided into three areas at FIBES: an inner pavilion for the stands, outdoor areas and a central area under the dome of the Centre and adjoining corridors. It is promoted by the Junta de Andalucía (Andalusian Regional Government), AMINER (the Association of Research, Quarrying, Mining-Metallurgical Processing and Services Companies), CONFEDEM (the National Confederation of Mining and Metallurgy Employers), FEDEME (the Metal Entrepreneurs' Federation), the Official College of Mining Engineers of Southern Spain, the Official Geologists' Association of Andalusia and the Official College of Technical Engineers and Mining and Energy Graduates. Main strengths of MMH: 1. It will fill an important gap as a benchmark trade show in Europe in its field and will have a positive economic impact for the city of Seville, generating indirect revenues of around 3 million euros. 5. It will promote awareness of new management and production systems and technologies applied to metal mining and will also help entities to adapt to the new demands of cutting-edge companies It will highlight the capacity of the mining sector to fuel economic and social progress in Andalusia and to maintain a strong and stable productive fabric, thanks to the enormous potential of the region's natural resources. Andalusia is now one of the world's leading mining regions, emerging as the most important metal mining area in Spain and Western Europe. The event will focus on the importance of innovation in mining, applied in all stages of this process, from research and exploitation of deposits to the processing of mineral resources, thus demonstrating that innovation already plays a key role in Andalusia. It will create synergies between regional, national and international subsidiary companies, fostering relations and links between them, and serving in turn as a meeting place for stakeholders engaging in this sector It will promote Andalusia as an investment destination, at both national and international level. It will boost a sector that is invigorating the regional economy, with turnover expected to reach around 1,000 million euros a year once the projects currently in development come into operation and a total investment of over 2,800 million euros. It will boost the diversification of production in a territory where industry and mining are making a growing contribution to GDP. It will strengthen the Andalusia brand through its commitment to an innovative sector, evidencing a clear awareness of the importance of responsible development and sustainability. 10. 3 VENUE: FIBES 03 Seville is an ideal place for holding different kinds of business meetings and conferences It has an excellent location with connections to other cities in Europe and Spain. The Seville Exhibition and Conference Centre (FIBES) is located 6 km from the San Pablo International Airport and Santa Justa railway station, which offers high speed rail services (AVE).
