2 Pera Fine Arts is consists of various sections. PERA FINE ARTS INSTITUTE It is a private institute accredited by Turkish Ministry of Education. The institute consists of the courses which give vocational education on Art and Communication areas. It was founded in 1991 in Taksim Siraselviler Avenue which is much frequented place in Taksim in Istanbul. After 15-year experience period, the institute has learned how to combine the theories, which their accuracy were proved in order to achieve high level of education, and now, is teaching how to do it. Up to now, the institute gives education to approximately one thousand students in 33 different subjects; Music: Piano, classic guitar, flamenco guitar, viola, violin, cello, contrabass, flute, saxophone, clarinet, trumpet, drums, singing, musical singing, Turkish instruments, chorus, tonmaister. Drawing-painting: Drawing, painting, Turkish traditional arts, preparation class for fine arts faculties in universities. Theatre: Theatre education program for ages, Theatre education program for every age, Theatre education program (entrance with exam). Dance: Ballet, flamenco dance, modern dance, Latin American dances, Argentina tango. Graphic design (visual communication) Interior design and decoration Jewelry design Fashion design Web design Autocad Accountancy with computer Photography Cinema TV Fine and effective speaking in Turkish language Public relations Advertising The education schedules duration change according to their contents between one or four year. During and at the end of their education all students have the chance to perform their skills by concerts, shows, exhibitions ect. All students, when they finish the program successfully, can have a certificate which is accredited by Turkish Ministry of Education. The institution aims to gain a level at international standards and make students conscious of their professional needs, adapting them in cooperative environments. Pera s mission is, to become an international reference point for creative young people. Pera Fine Arts Institute is leading in Arts and Communication field by means of inventing, creating, using new technology and showing performances. It is located in Istanbul. Its future target is to become widespread in Turkey and Europe while increasing its professional areas. Our educational target is with our qualified teachers and our continuously developing to serve the needs of professional world. Pera Fine Arts Institute has a unique character of innovations, leader approach and renewing itself. (

3 PERA FINE ARTS ANATOLIAN HIGH SCHOOL It is the first and unique Anatolian Fine Arts High School with four subjects (Music, Drawing/Painting, Theatre and Dance/Ballet) in Turkey. It was founded in 1994 in the same building with Pera Fine Arts Institute. The students are accepted by an entrance exam after the secondary school. Their education program includes general lessons (like physics, mathematics, literature, geography, etc.), language lessons (English and Italian) and art lessons (it changes to the subject, for example in theatre subject, acting, make up, decor, fencing, dram, etc.) for four years. After the high school, the students take the diplomas and have chance to go to the university in Turkey or abroad. The students, during their education, can use technological and physical facilities of Pera like ateliers, editing rooms, studios, and cameras and can be part of the national and international festivals, organizations, projects. Last year, Pera Fine Arts Anatolian High School gave a start the first Piano Festival of Turkey in national level. One hundred and seventy three young people who were between 13 and 18 ages attended Festival and performed their piano parts for 4 days. This year, Pera is planning to carry the Festival to on international level and it has already started to cooperate with Il Trillo International Music School (Florence / Italy). ( LONDON COLLEGE OF MUSIC / THAMES VALLEY UNIVERSITY Pera Fine Arts Institute and Pera Fine Arts Anatolian High School together, are also an examination center of London School of Music which is an extension unit of Thames Valley University. Every year, London School of Music internationally certifies many students at Music (at grade and diploma like post-graduate, license and master level) with the European and worldwide recognized quality criteria. CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL VISITS FOR ABROAD Also Pera now is organizing summer courses in Italy (Florence), in Spain (Madrid) and in France (Paris). 4 PERA THEATRE It is founded in 1999, performs every year one or two plays for adults and one for children with professional and non-professional actresses and actors. Last year it won the most prestigious theatre awards of Turkey. It has a theatre saloon for one hundred and twenty audiences. Theatre attends every year national and international theatre festivals. ( PERA ART GALLERY It has one thousand square meters exhibition saloon. Gallery welcomes approximately 20 picture and statuary exhibitions every year. Gallery has arranged a lot of international exhibitions up to now. Last year the most important drawing artists of Persia, Macedonian and Chinese exhibited their works in Gallery. Gallery also attends international and national fairs, biennials and exhibitions. Last year Pera was a part of Beijing International Art Fair and one of the Gallery artists has opened an exhibition in important gallery of Rome. ( PHYSICAL CONDITIONS OF PERA Pera gives education to one thousand students in 33 different subjects with 80 teacher and trainers and 25 staff. Pera s was built on five thousand square meters. Pera has one cafeteria which presents lunch and various menus to the students and one art gallery, one production studio, a lot of seminar halls and ateliers, classes and two theater saloons and one ballet saloon.

6 6) Project Name : QUALITY WORKPLACE VET (Quality Workplace Training for Unemployed Young People) Project Type : EU Leonardo Da Vinci B type Pilot Project Project Promoter : Stratford upon Avon College (UK) Project Partners : Pera Fine Arts Graduates Association (TR), L Ecole Hoteliere du Perigord (FR), Instituto Professionale di Stato per il Servizi Alberghieri e della Ristorazione (IPSSAR) (IT). Project Duration : Project Results : The project will start on October, It aims to improve the quality of vocational training and develop the quality of VET systems and practices. ( 7) Project Name : EUROPEAN EXPERIMENTS III Project Type : EU Youth Projects Project Promoter : KAJA-West Culture Association (DE) Project Partners : Pera Fine Arts Graduates Association (TR), Vilnius Art Academy (Lithuania), Poznan+Bialystok Politecnicum (PL), Timisoara (Romania), Kongsi (Netherland). Project Duration : 2006 Project Results : The students from all partners who study in graphic design, interior design and drawing meet in Germany and product art works with together. ( 8) Project Name : FINE ARTS MEETING IN PERA Project Type : EU Youth Projects Project Promoter : Pera Fine Arts Anatolian High School (TR) Project Partners : Progetto Giovani (IT), Initsiativa Regional Youth Council Stara Zagora (Bulgaria), UNO (Sweden), Diavlos (Greece). Project Duration : 2006 Project Results : Total 60 students from these countries came to Istanbul and studied four different subjects together. 9) Project Name : CULTURAL COMMUNICATION: ACTIVE EUROPEAN CITIZENSHIP THROUGH ARTS AND MUSIC Project Type : The Delegation of European Commission in Turkey / Culture in Action Project Promoter : Pera Fine Arts Graduates Culture and Solidarity Association (TR) Project Partners : ESTA Bildungswerk (DE), MEWCAT (GE) Project Duration : (1 year) Project Results : Two contests about music and arts were organised in three countries and total 18 young people awarded with trip to Turkey and Germany. Also total 45 youngsters music and art Works were exhibited in Germany/Duisburg, Greece / Milos, Turkey / Istanbul and Rize/Camlihemsin. ( 10) Project Name : Development of web-based education module for the craftsmen working in restoration sector to receive a vocational traning according to European Quality Standardization (RESELTAM)
