4 OUR FOUNDATION S EDUCATIONAL AND CULTURAL ACTIVITIES Since its inception, Türkiye Diyanet Foundation has continued its educational activities in Turkey and abroad, in collaboration with many agencies and institutions but particularly with The Turkish Directorate of Islamic Affairs and Turkish Ministry of National Education. EDUCATION IS OUR PRIORITY As part of our ongoing educational activities, we have established and support 16 schools in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Romania, Bulgaria, Somalia, Malaysia, Haiti and Pakistan. A total number of students study in these schools while students have so far graduated from the schools. 4 TURKIYE DIYANET FOUNDATION 5

5 Diyanet Scholarship Programs, have an important place among the educational activities of our Foundation. In this context, a total number of 2.375students, from 102 countries, continue to study at high school, bachelors, masters and PhD levels in different cities in Turkey. According to the protocol signed by our foundation and Turkish Ministry of National Education, International Imam Khatip High School students study on the boarding status. Therefore the students study at schools deemed appropriate by the Ministry of Education. Our goal is to provide global Muslim communities deprived of access to Islamic education with that opportunity. PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM The purpose of Türkiye Diyanet Foundation scholarship program; To contribute to Islamic education of the Muslim communities globally. To train qualified people in every aspect of Islam who will benefit their communities with their knowledge and experiences. To build cultural bridges between Turkey and related societies. 6 IMAM KHATIP HIGH SCHOOLS IN TURKEY Imam Khatip High School is a type of vocational high school with Islamic syllabus, conducted under the authority of the Ministry of National Education in order to meet the need of Islamic education and human resources in the field. Students on our scholarship program study at Mustafa Germirli International Anatolian Imam Khatip High School in Kayseri, Fatih Sultan Mehmet International Anatolian Imam Khatip High School in İstanbul and Mevlana International Anatolian Imam Khatip High School in Konya. Curriculum at Imam Hatip High Schools Common Courses are; History, Geography, Mathematics, Geometry, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Health Sciences, Philosophy, Foreign Language, Physical Education, Visual Arts, Music, and Traffic. Additional Vocational courses are, the Holy Quran, Arabic, Basic Islamic Studies, Siyer, Fiqh, Tafsir, History of Religions, Hadith, Kalam, Rhetoric, and History of Islam. 8 TURKIYE DIYANET FOUNDATION 9

7 OUR SCHOOLS Fatih Sultan Mehmet Imam Khatip High School Our school is located in the best known and most beautiful city of Turkey, Istanbul, in the Fatih district of Istanbul. The school is built on square meters and is a school with wide opportunities. It has started to operate in academic year and has accepted the first season of overseas students, We operate with Turkish students and 214 students from 53 countries. After four years of education in our school, our students are entitled to receive a high school diploma. That will enable them to apply for scholarship, to study the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Turkey. Kayseri Mustafa Germirli Imam Khatip High School In academic year, after a decision by the General Directorate of the Ministry of Islamic Education our school as completely been allocated to international students. 9 The opportunity to practice Friday prayers and khutbas, Free school uniforms and textbooks, Communication facilities to contact families and friends, Computer lab and internet, Wi-fi, Recreation rooms, 24-hour hot water and shower facilities, Canteen, Bursary Opportunity In addition to other expenses such as annual return ticket to home countries, accommodation, clothing and stationary expenses, the foundation supports its students with monthly bursaries (currently 100 Turkish Lira) at the amounts determined by the board at the beginning of every year. Summer And Winter Camps After every academic year we organize free summer camps for our students. On these camps we provide them with supplementary Turkish, Arabic and Quran courses. These camps are organized in summer resorts outside big cities and include swimming, sports and other recreational activities such as scouting. Extra Curricular activities One of the most distinctive features of our schools is free extracurricular courses. The students will be notified about the schools and all necessary information. Read the application reference guide carefully and complete your form correctly and timely. For a rapid and healthy communication, correct contact information is vital as part of the application form. Therefore you should keep all your contact information and particularly your address up to date and check it regularly. Applications with incorrect or incomplete information can be terminated at any stage. Students are required to return to their country after completing their education. 11 APPLICATION AND ADMISSION REQUIREMENT Applicants for Imam Hatip High School Scholarship Program have to meet the following conditions. 1. To graduate from a school (secondary or intermediate) equivalent to grade 8 in Turkey with at least a good degree (70%), 2. Not having to repeat or suspend the school more than one year without a valid excuse after completing the secondary school, 3. To be male, 4. To be born not earlier than , 5. Not to be penalized for any disciplinary action during his education in his country, 6. Not to have any mental or physical health problem obstacle to study in Turkey, 7. 12 Interviews And Evaluation Of Applications After you complete the application form accurately we will receive your form in our online system. Once your application has been approved you shall be notified with a confirmation . Unapproved applicants may not receive notification. After preliminary selection, an interview and exam committee will be appointed by the Commission to perform that task. The applicants will be notified with all the processes to take place. REGISTRATION Successful candidate will be notified about the requirements and necessary procedures to travel to and register in Turkey. Important Notes on Registration 1. Candidates must apply for registration in person Interview Topics Ability to read the Holy Quran Basic Islamic knowledge General culture Behavioral observation 2. Unauthorized copies or photocopies of the documents required for registration are not accepted. 3. Registration will not be registered without complete documents. 4. Registration will take place within the specified dates. Late registrations will not be permitted. 5. Successful candidates shall sign a Declaration of Honor and any misconduct to the declaration will result in the loss of all rights.
