2 GENERAL INORMATION Perinatal Health Optimizing Biopsychosocial Dynamics The 35th Annual Perinatal Nurses Conference, presented by the March of Dimes New York State Chapter Nurse Advisory Committee, brings together nursing and other health care experts to provide state-of-the-art information about nursing theory, clinical practice and policy. CONFERENCE REGISTRATION AND FEES: Register by mail, fax or . On-site registration is based on availability. Conference registration fees include admission to the conference, exhibits, poster presentations, program materials, continental breakfast and lunch. Checks should be made payable to: March of Dimes and mailed to Madeline Britt, March of Dimes, 515 Madison Avenue, 20th Floor, NY, NY CANCELLATIONS: Refund requests will be honored until Thursday, February 28th, 2013, a $50 service charge will be deducted, and refund checks will be mailed six weeks after the conference. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: A confirmation letter will be mailed to you, per your registration information. 3 GOALS The conference goal is to bring together nursing and other health care experts to provide state-of-the-art information regarding nursing theory, perinatal clinical practice and policy. Developed by nurses for nurses, the conference focuses on continued clinical excellence and patient advocacy in the face of current best practices and redesign in health care delivery. TARGET AUDIENCE Perinatal nurses practicing in the areas of antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, public health, home health, and neonatal nursing. OBJECTIVES At the completion of this seminar the attendees will be able to: 1. Explore the impact of biopsychosocial dynamics and treatment during the perinatal period on the newborn, parents and family constellation. 2. Apply their knowledge of psychosocial challenges in pregnancy to determine a women s mental health risk during the perinatal period and beyond. 3. Conduct a self-assessment of stress and apply coping techniques to improve job satisfaction and delivery of care. ACCREDITATION This activity has been submitted for approval to award contact hours. New Jersey State Nurses Association is accredited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center s COA.
