Conditions for market participation (1/4) Spot market Technology - bids have to exceed 0,1 MWh (e.g. 0,1 MW over one hour) - increase of 0,1 MWh - Access to the EEX trade systems (simple: internet based WebAccess) - load XXX measurement every 15 minutes Regulation EEX trading licence: - allocation to an accounting grid /foundation of an accounting grid in - within the control are of a generator equity - Accreditation as clearing/nonclearing member of the ECC - proof of reliability/qualification as a -- - trader
Conditions for market participation (2/4) Market for minutes reserve Technology - bids have to exceed 15 MW, increase in 1 MW steps, pooling possible - provision of full power 15 minutes after request (as well as shut down) - Monitoring through TSO (especially run up and power while demanding) - 100% availability % of provided powe - 15 minute measuring load Regulation - approval - as BKV - from plant operators and/or owners - from TSO (Pre qualification, framework agreement) - allocation to an accounting grid
Conditions for market participation (3/4) Additional services are supposed to be considered»on top«peak shaving Electricity customers measured by power Load reduction in order to reduce the power price Avoided grid use
Conditions for market participation (4/4) Barriers in short Spot market High fixed costs (fees, securities), administrative efforts Market for minutes reserve pay-as-bid market day-ahead market Premium for power back up as Bedingung für Abruf von Arbeit Low call probability Additional services bilateral contracts needed Information deficits
etelligence (1/8) What is etelligence? The research project»etelligence«is a winner of a technology competition»e-energy«of the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi). Model region Cuxhaven Working group of more than 20 partners under the guidance of utility provider EWE AG Oldenburg supported by
etelligence (2/8) Idea behind etelligence Intelligent system integration of generators and consumers by using modern ICT (information- and communication technologies). etelligence develops and tests a regional market place for electricity, feedback systems, tariffs, incentive programs and control systems, a plug&play ICT infrastructure and international standards.
etelligence (3/8) How does etelligence work? Market place etelligence integrates electricity generators, consumers, energy services and grid operators at a regional market place. Plug&Play ICT infrastructure using modern ICT and international standards a plug&play IT infrastructure for communicating with generators and consumers is established. Intelligent system integration market place and ICT allow for a automated control of generators and consumers.
etelligence (4/8) How does etelligence work? Application Example CHPs in private buildings are enabled to adopt their operation to market prices of the etelligence market in order to compensate fluctuations of wind energy production.
