14 September 2009: forest fires in Liguria Region, ERS activation Action SAFER, CALL ID : ERCS_010 Location : Italy Requestor : Italian Civil Protection Event : fires A fire broke out on the 6th of September 2009 in the forests of the province of Liguria, Northern Italy, reaching the outskirts of Genoa city 2 days after the beginning of the fire, affecting over 800 hectares. A second fire appeared on the 7th of september 2009 in the Cinque Terre area, a national park registered as a world heritage humanity site, threatening the tourist village of Corniglia. Corrodano, village closed to the park, was also threatened by the flames. 17 February 2010: Oil spill in Lambro river, ERS activation The Lombarda Petroli oil refinery plant, in Villasanta (Lombardia Region, Monza Province), at the moment of the event was going to be closed but there was still a 30% of activity going on. On February the 23th at 4.00am a serious and heavy oil pouring started to happen from the plan t tank farm and it has been interrupted at 8.00am. The rainy atmospheric condition contributed in making the leakage even more efficient and the dispersed liquid reached the sewers. Through the sewers the oil reached the San Rocco purifier, which supply the whole Brianza district. The purifier conked out. From that purifier part of the liters (about cubic meters) of oil out flowed and reached the Lambro river. The oil slick started to flow within the Lambro river and reached its confluence with Po river.

25 November 2010: reclamation activities in Sardinia Region, ERS activation DPC required high resolution (res. < or equal to 1m) optical acquisition area of interest La Maddalena municipality (Sardinia Region, Italy) UNUSUAL ACTIVATION REQUEST A "special" kind of geographic reference detail map is needed, in which all the foreseen vectorial analysis in the standard product is NOT shown (no hydrology, no transport, no population, no industry and utilities,...). The only value added analyses requested on top of the image are: - orthorectification of the image - the exact rectangular Area Of Interest (AOI) shown as a vectorial feature on the map (with vertex's coordinates specified among the ancillary infos on the map's frame and shown as labels into the map)
