2 Ordering and Identification Information Each Stearns disc brake is uniquely specified by a position, alpha-numeric part number. For most standard brakes, the first nine positions identify a specific brake, including series, style, torque, current and enclosure. The last three positions of the part number are for alphabetic characters that specify hub bore - keyway combination, coil voltage and lead wire position. For eample, when ordering a lb-ft,,000 series brake for V/0 Hz service on a hp, 1,00 rpm, TEFC, TC frame motor with / shaft, /1 / keyways, and internal lead wire connection, the brake should be specified as follows: DFF Lead wire position - internal (Table K) Coil voltage - V/0 Hz (Table G) Hub bore and keyway - / /1 / (Table B),000 series disc brake - lb-ft When ordering a brake with modifications or a model number not shown in this bulletin, specify all requirements.
