The one storey building is situated in the peaceful grounds of Leonard Cheshire Care Home and is surrounded by picturesque gardens. It offers a John Masefield House, Burcot, Abingdon, OX 14 3DP wide range of activities such as quizzes, boccia bowls, reminiscence sessions, art & crafts, trips and entertainment. The service supports prevention, enablement and independence to adults with a physical disability who are residents in South Oxfordshire, Vale of White Horse and East Oxford area. West Way Day Centre is a service for older people in Oxford. They provide a variety of activities for all abilities, Physical activities, including chair exercises and team games. 3 Hook Norton Day Centre 1 day per week, 16 per session (Hook Norton). The Hook Norton Day Centre is open to local elderly people and operates every Monday (except public holidays) from 1000hrs 1500hrs in the Hook Norton Baptist Church Hall. Members either walk or are transported by their families or volunteer drivers to the Hall, where they are given a welcoming cup of tea/coffee and biscuits. After a morning of conversation with other members and volunteers, a freshly prepared lunch is served. During the afternoon there is always some form of entertainment a singalong, bingo, games Baptist Church Hall, Netting Street, Hook Norton, OX15 and films provided by Age Concern in Banbury, an illustrated talk and sometimes a 5NJ visit by a representative of the Oxfordshire Museum who brings interesting artefacts for discussion. Local musicians sometimes provide music for the members and children from the Hook Norton school visit us and entertain us with music or drama. Twice a year there is an outing in the summer for lunch at a local beauty spot or garden centre and at Christmastime, a festive lunch at a nearby restaurant. The members are also invited to attend the annual Christmas production at the school. Before returning to their homes, the members are given tea/coffee and cake. The group meet every Thursday for 10 months High Street Methodist Church of the year from 10am to 2pm in the Bethany Room in the Methodaist Church in the 40 High Street centre of Witney. Activities include arts and crafts, boccia bowls, guest speakers, Witney bingo, quizzes and entertainment. Trips include garden centres, shopping trips and Oxfordshire local attractions like Cotswold Wildlife Park and Crocodile World. A wide range of activities are provided including seated 3QW exercice, games, music, chat and guest speakers as well as visits to theatre (pantomime) and trips out for lunch. Refreshments are provided along with a nourishing home-cooked hot lunch. There is a transport service and a volunteer car service available run by volunteer drivers. The Day Centre is a well established lunch club which is situated in the centre of Watlington. There is a West Room, Old School Place, Gorwell, Watlington.
