2 Reception Class Art and Design Autumn and Sunflower collages Sketch seeds, leaves and berries and match colours and stencilling using Autumn colours 3D work - Junk modelling + exploration of playdough, plasticine and clay. Create texture using a variety of tools Salt dough tree decorations and Christmas wreaths - Wax resist bonfires Van Gogh - Sunflowers printing Digital media Listening pictures - Make different shapes/patterns/pictures whilst listening to music. Use different media. Finger painting using primary colours. Explore colour mixing. 4 Year 2 Art & Design Dragons (using tone and texture) Maths through art ( measure) Colour mixing - create colour wheel primary, secondary, and tertiary colours Marble Rolling using complementary colours (abstract) - Using Line (washing line drawings) Look at work of Eric Joyner Robots and Doughnuts create layered art painted background, 3d doughnut and use isometric paper to draw a 3d robot to stick onto the Layered art background. Observational drawing toys Sketching: self-portraits. Create different effects using different grades of sketching pencil. (Link with Computing curriculum) -create a textured surface and draw using charcoal and pastels to create Cave drawings (linked to Topic work Stone Age to the Iron Age) -create an Iron age belt using wool/threads and an ancient plaiting technique (Linked to Stone Age topic) Cave paintings in prehistoric times Craft used in Prehistoric times regarding the materials they had such as leather and natural painting substances such as berries and rocks. 6 Year 4 Art and Design Greek shields, Brush helmets, ships, features to warn the enemy. use sketching pencils and pencil crayons to draw Greek pots. Draw silhouette figures based on Greek pots. Use a range of materials. 3D work - clay pots and papier mache vases Using pastels patterns seen in artefacts/ land/rock structures/ nature/ animals/ organic investigating pattern and colour Recreate the river, from a planned drawing, showing all 3 courses, use tissue paper (collage) to make it. Greek vase painters key designs Lowry Digital media 3D work Study portraiture. Look at style, colour and poses. Learn about proportion and position of the parts of the face. Project half a face on to the Interactive Whiteboard and use the detail to replicate the other half. Use sketching pencils. Sketch a portrait of a friend using graphite sticks. Create portraits using paints and oil pastels. Evaluate. Use the computer to manipulate digital portraits Make a roman fort using junk. Make Roman outfits for the play, make scenery, etc. Portraits of royalty July
