We will explore the building blocks of all mammals which include specialized cells, tissues and the organ systems they comprise. We will study these systems individually as well as how their interdependence drives the body towards a state of homeostasis or balance. The course content will be taught through lecture, dissections, lab activities, research projects, ethical debates and disorder presentations. This course is designed to spur your curiosity and build an appreciation for the intricacies of life as we strive towards a greater understanding of the human body. Supplies needed: A dedicated folder or binder just for your anatomy and physiology material. I can provide you with a complementary folder. Assessments & Grading: The key to success in anatomy is being in class, completing work on time and reviewing material on a regular basis. You will accumulate points through the course of the semester which will be weighted into the categories as shown below. You should be prepared to work individually and in small groups on projects, lab activities, presentations and dissections.
