4 FULL DESIGN SERVICE If you are looking to light just a few rooms or a whole house or a garden, our full design service is ideal for you. The initial meeting with a designer can be either on site or in our showroom. It is always preferable to visit site especially if the project is a complete refurbishment. However for a new build and for smaller projects, a showroom based meeting is ideal. For this you will need CAD plans, ceiling heights and furniture layouts. Photographs of rooms are also helpful. Our hourly rates start from 85 an hour plus VAT. We are happy to provide a fee proposal for any size of project which sets out a clear framework for the design process alongside costs. Before you make decisions on lighting, try to work out exactly where your furniture will be positioned and what focal points you want to highlight. Paintings, furniture, sculpture or other works of art can each be accentuated. Consider integrating lighting into your shelving to highlight books or objects and think about lighting the table at the centre of a room as this pulls the seating together. 5 ONE ROOM DESIGN SERVICE John Cullen also offer a unique lighting design service for just one room for 150 plus VAT. This service is ideal for living rooms, kitchens, bathrooms and bedrooms. Exceptions are rooms with more than one use, conservatories, swimming pools, double height spaces and gardens. For the one room service you will meet with one of our lighting desginers in the showroom to go through your plans and discuss the room in detail with you. You will need to have scaled architectural plans (preferably at 1:50) and ceiling heights. Additional information such as elevations, furniture layouts and photographs are also very useful. Following the meeting the designer will mark up the architectural plans and produce a full specification of all the light fittings, lamps, transformers, drivers and controls required. Mood boards are also included to give you an idea of the effects. Our One Room Lighting Design Service is subject to availability and is strictly limited to one room only. For anything else, our full design service hourly rates apply. We aim to organise an appointment within 5 working days and have the plans back to you within a further 5 working days. Stunning lighting effects are displayed in specially designed schemes for a kitchen, dining room, bedroom, bathroom, sitting room, garden and even a wine cellar. The Showroom has full blackout facilities to help you appreciate the power light has to transform a space by creating different moods at the touch of a button, whether you wish to light just one object, a room, a whole building or a garden. With advances in technology and a raft of new legislation controlling how you can and cannot light your home, there has never been a greater need to seek expert advice. 4

7 MASTER CLASSES AND CPDS John Cullen offer a number of different ways to help you learn and understand more about lighting. A Master Class in Lighting the House and Garden, presented by Design Director Sally Storey, demonstrates what can be achieved with lighting in your home. The evening will look at the latest lighting techniques and inspire you with ideas on how creative lighting can add the wow factor to your home. For the interior designer and architect looking for updates on the latest in lighting techniques and regulations, we offer a range of BIID and RIBA accredited CPDs across four different subjects presented by Design Director Lucy Martin. Join one of our events or we can organise a time or date to suit. For garden and landscape designers, we offer a specific garden and exterior lighting Master Class to update you on the latest lighting techniques and products. The compact master unit can be situated in a room as the master control, or housed remotely in a cupboard with an auxiliary unit positioned by the door in a room. Master units and auxiliaries can be linked to produce multiple circuit control for open plan living spaces, cinema and conference rooms for lighting and blind control. Master control unit WIRELESS LIGHTING CONTROLS Wireless dimmer and control modules can now be installed more easily. These wire in-line with the lighting circuit and easily fit through a standard downlight cut-out. The control plates also have no wires and are available in a wide range of finishes. The 7 button auxiliary plate can control up to 15 circuits per room and provides 4 scenes, off, raise and lower offering full programming capability.
