WHAT IF YOU HAVE ALREADY DONE SOME STUDIES/COMPETENCIES THAT ARE COVERED IN OUR COURSES? Under the national training guidelines Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Recognition of Current Competencies (RCC) or Mutual Recognition procedures apply to our courses. What this means is that if you have achieved certain levels of training competencies at other accredited training institutions then these will be recognised by this training establishment & you will not be required to re-do those particular Units of Competency. RPL/RCC procedures may comprise a combination of testing and/or simply examining particular course/s competency statements/ records of learning outcomes as presented by applicants. A charge of $100 per hour applies. Total costs of this process will vary according to what level of prior learning is claimed and/or the amount of testing required to assess RPL/RCC for individual applicants. Typically, RPL/RCC takes 1-2 hours to complete depending on the extent of RPL/RCC claimed. Evidence required for the above processes may include: Papers Reports Certifications, awards, statements of attainment etc References, work reports from current or previous employers etc Course details and details of any course provider of any course you have attended or are claiming status for. Original documents or certified true copies are required to support your application.

5 Mutual Recognition - We recognise the AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issue by any other RTO. WHAT IF I HAVE HAD EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN THE SECURITY FIELD? DO I NEED TO DO ALL TRAINING MODULES OR ONLY SOME OF THEM? There is provision for RCC for those who feel that they have sufficient experience or knowledge & do not need to undertake training courses. An equivalency test is simply part of RCC procedures which is explained above. Accredited training providers will be empowered to conduct equivalency testing under these circumstances. A charge of $85 per hour will be applicable for this service for those who wish to undertake the equivalency testing process. Total charges levied for this service will depend on what prior learning is claimed & the level of testing required to assess RPL for each applicant.
