There will be 4 committees within the overall planning committee: Assessment, Educational Programming, Social Programming and Logistics. Educational Programming and Social Programming will then be broken in to smaller committees to allow for more specific focus on Breakouts, Campus Meetings, General Sessions, Pride Groups, Returner Track, Late Night Entertainment, and Fitness/Wellness programs. We are looking for both committee chairs and committee members to fill all of the committees Committee Chair Information Assessment: Preparation of assessment forms, distribution and collection, and then creating the report. Weekly time commitment: Monthly leadership team meetings (4 on-site visits (2 at hosting campus and 2 at University Park) and 3 polycoms), very little weekly until May-October Page 1 of Penn State University Summer Leadership Conference Committee Application

2 Timeframe of commitment: January-October to coordinate distribution at SLC and prepare the report Educational Programming: Work together to create a cohesive curriculum that connects each educational component Weekly time commitment: Monthly leadership team meetings (4 on-site visits (2 at hosting campus and 2 at University Park) and 3 polycoms), 2-5 hours per week depending on the week Breakout Sessions: facilitate call for ed sessions, cultivate session topics and recruit speakers to present, organizes committee into focus areas, ensure ed sessions are fulfilling the learning outcomes of the SLC Weekly time commitment: 2-3 hours Campus Meetings: Lead the development of the agenda for the campus meetings and ensure all information and updates are included. Communicate with the committee about the agenda. Ensure all items and documents are prepared, copied and gathered for the campus meeting packets. General Sessions: research, correspond with, contract and handle all details for general session speakers Timeframe of commitment: majority of duties fall in May & June, plus work through July & August Pride Groups: provide insight and synthesize information from themes of the conference and learning outcomes; fill the gaps from ed sessions and incorporate interactive learning in the Pride Groups every other week Returner Track: prepare special programming during Pride Group sessions for students returning to the conference including meeting agendas and resources; coordinate times with Ed Session committee to allow returners the opportunity to present; create and facilitate showcase of returner track work during the conference. Weekly time commitment: 2-3 hours Timeframe of commitment: majority of commitment during May-August Social Programming: Work together to create an exciting and effective social program schedule for students to network with each other, work together on Campus Challenge events Weekly time commitment: Monthly leadership team meetings (4 on-site visits (2 at hosting campus and 2 at University Park) and 3 polycoms), 2-5 hours per week depending on the week, with majority duties March-June Fitness/Wellness: plan and coordinate fitness/wellness opportunities during SLC including 5K, cardio and yoga type sessions, typically early morning Timeframe of commitment: March-August, with majority duties March-June Page 2 of Penn State University Summer Leadership Conference Committee Application

3 Late Night Entertainment: plan and coordinate entertainment for any of the following: during and after pride dinner, off-site entertainment, first night entertainment Timeframe of commitment: March-August, with majority duties March-June Logistics: prepare materials for mailboxes/ feel good bags, design/sort t-shirts, compile and assemble welcome bags, create and hang door decorations, work with Housing & Food regarding dietary restrictions and communicating those processes to attendees, program book/designs, creating signage for campus, website design, prepare registration materials, room assignments Weekly time commitment: Monthly leadership team meetings (4 on-site visits (2 at hosting campus and 2 at University Park) and 3 polycoms), Are you interested in serving as a committee chair?
