2 Morning ory Workshops Measuring the impact of Primary Sport funding Ali Arber Successful school swimming Mandy Carey Guidance and templates to help you articulate how you are spending your funding and the impact that it is having. This will also include October 2015 updates on funding spending. This workshop will guide you on how to plan an effective school swimming programme. It will include FAQ's as well as progressive awards for pupils and school swimming galas. Ali started her career in a middle school in Hertfordshire. She moved to Aylesbury High 17 years ago as the Head of Department and Curriculum Manager. She has been seconded as a PE consultant for the past 7 years in Buckinghamshire. As the Bucks Learning Trust Education Excellence Advisor for school swimming, Mandy's role includes supporting schools with their school swimming programmes, including national and local policy advice and training. Mandy also works at Aylesbury High where she is responsible for the coordination of the swimming programme.

3 Morning Practical Workshops Inclusive PE Alison Sturla Outdoor active learning in numeracy and literacy Pete Lammas New games and activity ideas Kate Chaplin Gymnastics with Beth Tweddle Dance Programmes Sian Edwards Practical ideas for making PE lessons fully inclusive for pupils with a range of different needs. This may range from physical disability groups to less confident pupils. workshop will focus on using the STEP principles and the inclusion spectrum to support pupil progress across the range of abilities in your PE lessons This workshop will improve the delegates understanding and confidence when developing primary school numeracy and literacy skills through a wide range of practical based, healthy and enjoyable physical activities. Bored of the traditional games and sports? Do your children need different challenges? Come along and try Archery, Kurling, Cup Stacking, Orienteering (made simple!) to name a few. Gain ideas for wet weather lessons and master the challenges of small spaces and lots of people. Under Beth's guidance and with the help of local pupils, you will cover a number of gymnastics skills with a focus on how to be able to teach and deliver similar sessions within your own school gymnastics programme. This workshop will look at Schemes of Work for KS1 & KS2 students to help progress their skills and compliment the class curriculum. It will focus on writing your own schemes of work to tailor a curriculum to suit your strengths. Alison has worked as a PE teacher in mainstream primary, secondary and special schools for the last 15 years. She is currently based at Alfriston Special in Beaconsfield where she leads on the Project Ability Programme with the remit to work with local schools to support making their PE delivery more inclusive. Pete as led PE departments in 3 secondary schools, worked as a PE advisor with a primary focus, for a local authority for 10 years and now leads and managed primary CPD programmes for Sport Impact, the school sport partnership in Hounslow. Following 11 years of Secondary PE teaching; Kate is now the Coordinator of the Dr Challoner s High Sports Partnership and Games Organiser. Kate works with 28 primary schools in the Chiltern area offering a vast range of Level 2 Competitions for whole classes and a hands on approach to CPD in Primary s, alongside a comprehensive CPD programme for all members of the Sports Partnership Unfortunately Beth is now unable to deliver this workshop for us however we have managed to secure her ex coach Gary Kirby who will be coming in to deliver this session. Sian is now Deputy Head Teacher in charge of curriculum, teaching and learning at Aspire (Bucks PRU) which recently gained outstanding in all areas from Ofsted. 3

4 Afternoon ory Workshops Effective teaching and learning in PE Julie Gompertz Ofsted in Primary PE (KS1/KS2) Will Swaithes Does your school provide every young person with their entitlement to a high quality PE experience? se workshops consider key features of effective teaching and learning in PE at Key Stage 1 & 2 linked to Ofsted expectations and pupil progress and achievement. Providing essential tips, strategies and opportunities to self reflect on individual and school practice whilst identifying core areas for development. An opportunity to unpick Ofsted's Common Inspection Framework to better understand the impact the wider PE offer can have on whole school issues in order to not only be confident to impress during an inspection but also contribute significantly to the outcome. Julie Gompertz spent 18 years in Senior Leadership / Physical Education teaching. She began consultancy in 2007 providing bespoke support in schools across the country, specialising in education improvement and training of teachers. Currently working as a YST National Tutor and strategically with Sport Impact in West London, developing teacher mentoring, health & well being programmes. Will joined the Youth Sport Trust as Head of PE in February Keen to have an impact at a national strategic level around the value and impact of PE in schools. He previously spent 13 years as a secondary PE teacher, AST, lead practitioner and member of SLT, responsible for teaching & learning, CPD and quality assurance across the school. 4

An overview and practical demonstration of Leap s exciting new physical literacy resource for Key Stage 1 children. This resource manual is curriculum friendly and has been produced for use in schools by teachers in Buckinghamshire who will benefit from an associated training day and mentoring programme Under Beth's guidance and with the help of local pupils, you will cover a number of gymnastics skills with a focus on how to be able to teach and deliver similar sessions within your own school gymnastics programme. Following 11 years of Secondary PE teaching; Kate is now the Coordinator of the Dr Challoner s High Sports Partnership and Games Organiser. His passion and enthusiasm for coaching sessions and tutoring students is unrivalled. With 13 years of delivery experience in s, Clubs & community settings and a wide variety of qualifications Adam has a natural ability to bring sessions to life and make them enjoyable for all involved. Unfortunately Beth is now unable to deliver this workshop for us however we have managed to secure her ex coach Gary Kirby who will be coming in to deliver this session.
