2 Mr. Hermes F. Norero, P.E. is the founder and President of Building Drops. The concept of Building Drops first arose after realizing, while working for a product approval company in Florida that technology and engineering, coupled with excellent customer service and problem solving was needed. His experience and travel throughout the US, Europe and Asia made Mr. Norero realize what was needed in the fenestration industry. Through his previous work experience with new engineering ideas and innovative changes in technology and design, helped him design one of the first solar coating machine for a leading manufacturer here in the USA. As a practicing engineer in all aspects of mechanical design and project management, he has worked with companies such as LLNL, Pratt, Whitney, Lockheed and several other major manufacturers. Mr. Norero is also a member of the National Association of Home Builders. Additional experience includes the creation of conceptual drawings for complex projects and utilizing his natural ability to identify, troubleshoot, and provide solutions to mechanical issues. Mr. Norero has a BS in Mechanical Engineering and has completed some post graduate courses in Mechatronics.

14 Comparative analysis of operative windows and glazed doors may be made, provided the proposed unit complies with the following: 1. Shall always be compared with a tested and currently approved unit. 2. Varies only in width, height and/or load requirements. 3. Shall not exceed 100 percent of the proportional deflection for fiber stress of the intermediate members of the approved unit. 4. Shall conform as to extruded members, reinforcement and in all other ways with the tested approved unit. 5. Shall not exceed 100 percent of the concentrated load at the juncture of the intermediate members and the frame of the approved unit. 6. Shall not permit more air and water infiltration than the approved unit based on the height above grade. 7. Compared unit shall not exceed the maximum cyclic pressure when tested per TAS 203 or ASTM E 1886 and ASTM E 1996.

Shall not permit more air and water infiltration than the approved unit based on height above grade. 5. The maximum uniform load distribution (ULD) of any side is equal to the uniform load carried by the side divided by the length of the side. 6. The ULD of any member must not exceed the ULD of the corresponding member of the tested window. 7. The uniform load distribution on each member shall be calculated in accordance to Section 2, Engineering Design Rules, of the AAMA Procedural Guide. 8. Compared unit shall not exceed the maximum cyclic pressure when tested per TAS 201, TAS 202 and TAS 203 or ASTM E 1886 and ASTM E 1996.

22 PREMISES FOR SUBSTITUTION - GLAZED PRODUCTS A1.8 Insulated Glass Units A Substitutions in glass treatment, specifically and only from annealed to tempered, or annealed to heat-strengthened, or heat-strengthened to tempered shall be allowed to sacrificial lites of insulating gg glass units, without additional testing provided the system meets all the preconditions in A A Any substitution to an insulating glass unit from a single glazing (monolithic or laminated glass) shall be allowed automatically without additional testing provided the system meets all the above preconditions. Spacers, setting blocks, primary seals and secondary seals that do not alter any other performance criteria of the assembly shall be permitted to be used in this substitution.
